Pros
Excellent Medical Benefits, Excellent 401k and 401k matching up to 6%, Excellent management team
Cons
Low hourly wages compared to industry as a whole
Advice to Senior Management
If you would offer slightly higher hourly wages you would retain more competent employees.
Pros
Hands down the best benefits available in the U.S. This is due primarily to the company being based in Europe. 5 weeks of vacation per year, a decent 401k plan (50% match up to 6% of salary), ability to sell back 2 weeks of vacation per year, comparatively low premium for health insurance. Also, there is a small amount of profit sharing at year end (under 1k). This depends on you job and salary I believe.
Friendly atmosphere.
Cons
The pay is low compared to other companies in the dialysis field. Raises are kept about in line with the rate of inflation, so technically no raise at all regardless of performance. For me, the benefits make up the difference. My hours are flexible and I love my job, so I stay.
Advice to Senior Management
When you are telling everyone that they will only receive a 1-3% raise because of the economy, don't show up to visit with your employees in a limousine the following week.
Pros
I was nervous coming into this company with zero background in the healthcare industry, but I was welcomed with open arms and treated with the utmost respect. My opinions were always welcomed and my colleagues always made me feel like a part of the team.
Cons
I was expected to travel a great deal (3 out of 4 weeks per month), though this was not known to me when I was hired. Luckily my boss was receptive when I told him I would be unable to continue doing so.
Pros
The patients are the best reason to work at Fresenius....You will fall in love!!
Cons
Poor raises for the very junior personnel...patient techs
more recognization and programs to build team unity because it is not there.
the bottom line is important but it is taken to the extreme
if a unit does good all should benefit not just manager like Davita
better selection system for clinic managers
poor employee is a poor employee don't get rid of patient techs when some RNs are worse...get rid of both

Take care of your people and your people will tae care of
Pros
Decent salary and benefits. Opportunity for bonus in some positions is there. Can make this a long term job if your performing to expectations.
Cons
Good ol' boy network. Limited advancement opportunities. Company is seen as the 500 pound gorilla in the industry. Be careful, it would be easy and dangerous to get pigeonholed in the dialysis industry.
Advice to Senior Management
You have created a CYA and throw your buddy under the bus type of environment. Allow people to make mistakes, they are going to make them anyway!!
Pros
caring, patient oriented environment, long term employment, everyone works extremely hard
Cons
frequent reorganizations, some department silos
Pros
New Hire Training and Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA. 5 weeks paid leave each year. Option to work from home or on Saturdays, so you don't need to request as much PTO.
Cons
Position is very remote. Working in a different clinic each day doesn't allow much time to develop realtionships with staff. Not very many opportunities for pormotions unless you live near the headquarters or regional offices. Annual raise potential caps out at 4%.
Advice to Senior Management
Figure how how to bridge the gap between the role of the Financial Coordinator and the SW. There is too much crossover of job roles and it creates tension and confusion.
Pros
Tuition reimbursement, especially if one wants to advance to become an RN. Decent health benefits.
Cons
Very poor raises. They make clinical managers go out of their way to find faults in even the best of the best workers so as not to give employees a good raise. I consider myself one of the best all-around technicians on the floor, and I got a measly 40 cents. It's not my manager's fault. She's just answering to the higher-ups. No bonuses are given either. There's not much financial incentive to do a better job. Being a dialysis technician can be back breaking work and there is little to no financial appreciation for what we do.
Advice to Senior Management
I would say to management that better raises and bonuses would make me a happier employee and less resentful about having to give up my body to do the work I do. A higher ceiling for good, experienced technicians would be better, also.
Pros
Fresenius Medical Care is overall a great company to work for. They are very good at training their employees and with a fexible schedule it allows for a family life as well.
Cons
I think the only downside to work here is that there aren't many people in the office. It's a very quiet office and I am more used to an upbeat atmosphere.
Advice to Senior Management
I think allowing empolyees to make more decisions and less micromanaging would be helpful. If you hire people to do a job you must have confidence that they will get it done.
Pros
The benefits are great, the time off is higher than most others in the healthcare field. The company is number one in the field of dialysis. High tech machines and evidence based care.
Cons
It is difficult to know how to advance within the clinic. Other than a yearly cost of living, there is no chance for a significant raise. Newer staff are hired at a higher wage than staff that have been here for years. There should be an open and fair wage scale. Younger workers donn't understand that this is very hard work, so turn over is high.
Advice to Senior Management
In the era of bundling it will be a challenge to balance costs, patient care, and personnel costs. However, it was a huge slap in the face 2 years ago when staff were told no raises because there is a recession. The next day company put out a statement that it made more money in that fiscal year than ever before.
