I have been working at Fresenius Medical Care as an intern (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work-life balance good , but need to be assertive in communicating your needs.

    Cons

If you are working in the acute nursing program, hours can be long esp. if you are on call. However the clinical setting is more structured and you at least know what time your job will end for the day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Opportunity for promotions for RNs is limited. Current Acute Coordinator seems to make more people dissatisfied with their work schedule just to accommodate one nurse with babysitting problems and refusal to take other positions available to better suit her schedule needs. Three nurses quit in within one month due to this problem. I was not accommodated for a disability while others were.

I have been working at Fresenius Medical Care

    Pros

Pay recently improved. If you do your job your are pretty much left alone.

    Cons

Not much support available if short staffed, expected to fill all your own gaps, no matter how many shifts per week or what the hours are, have had to cover evening shift at my clinic repeatedly since taking position which affects my children and home life more than I ever thought it would. Management changes stressful. Admissions/upper management pushing for chairs for new patients even if no staff to work. Training time is 3 months for brand new employees and this is not enough to be thorough. Manager bonus program--apparently changed but no information given about it. When picking up things for clinic or buying staff lunch, you have to pay for it yourself and wait for reimbursement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't make clinic take on patients despite being short staffed.

    Pros

The people are friendly helpful and professional. The environment is conducive to learning and problem solving. The work accomplished there is rewarding and you fell like you are truly helping people.

    Cons

The phone calls coming in can be a bit overwhelming at times. The distance for me was a little far since my commute was about an hour and a half to and from.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better coordination between different teams.

    Cons

I at a ghetto facility. Been without a clinical manager for almost a year. Very unorganized. Revolving door.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more organized. Respect and show your works you care and appreciate and maybe people will stay.

    Pros

Great and friendly staff, good management, good communication for team growth, individual incentives, rounding physicians, intricate learning experience

    Cons

In a dietetic role, dietitians are usually made to travel around facilities making the job more stressful and for an intern to stay consistent with patients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management was always great. Implementation for new software was difficult to follow along with (E-Cube) but that's to be expected with anything knew.

I have been working at Fresenius Medical Care full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Working in for Fresenius Medical Care has allowed me to be able to shoe care and compassion for others who do what they have to do 3 times a week to live.

    Cons

I feel like they should offer better pat raises to their employees who work hands on and more close to the patients. Not just anybody can do this job. You have to be very committed to making a difference in the lives of others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give better pay raises to your employees
