    Pros

ok benefits, cookouts, working outdoors, friends with cowarkers, short shifts because they don't know how to schedule people

    Cons

Terrible senior leadership. None wants to take responsibility and continue to turn the other way when there are problems with the staff. The drivers come and go all the time and the management in the transportation department belittle you and make you feel like your worthless. Al is one of the most unprofessional and racist managers you'll want to work for. When you report him, nothing happens because they think we employees are telling lies. They aren't the ones in the heat and cold day after day working for a 12 an hour trying to feed their families. No real pay here - they pay you bare minimum while other places start at 15. They tell you they care but when I was interviewed I interviewed with 20 other people and they only picked 2 but they needed 10. The managers laughed at one guy behind his back and called him a queer

    Advice to Management

Remember you're there because customers pay your business money for a service, and your employees are the means to which you meet the customers demands. Quit treating us like slaves quit belittling us and do your job better. HR really needs to do more to eliminate things like this.

    Pros

Easy work, awesome hr, great employee development, yearly raises, hires from within, variety of positions so somewhere in the company is a place for everyone.

    Cons

Some supervisors are very "clique-y", company is having a VERY hard time eliminating an internal favoritism problem, racism is very apparent in some departments, while the opportunity to grow is there--you will have to fight tooth and nail to get and keep what you want.

    Advice to Management

Know what kind of employees you have before it's too late. You have a great company.

    Pros

FreshDirect is pretty pricey, but employees get a discount on deliveries, which makes the company’s prices comparable to Whole Foods (not counting tip for the delivery guy).

    Cons

The corporate office location in Long Island City is not the most convenient. The company is moving to the Bronx, which would make commuting even more difficult, assuming you don’t live in the Bronx.

    Advice to Management

There is a lot more competition now, from Instacart, to Postmates, to Amazon Fresh. Also from brick and mortar stores like Whole Foods. I think management was caught off guard with this influx of competition.

    Pros

Unfair treatment, has the most favoritism I seen at any job, and very low pay for the work they expect from you

    Advice to Management

Stop working for the money and start caring about your job
