Pros
GREAT people. Honestly, they were like a 2nd family to me, both my business partners and my peers. The technical and professional competencies I developed there are beyond my wildest dreams. And if you're someone who is driven and super focused on work then this is the perfect place for you. You will succeed and probably love it as much as I did. The benefits were great. Strong focus on metrics & deliverables. Great company committment to diversity and inclusion. Communication venues and technology solutions were far better than I expected, or realized at the time. Pay was good IF you were recognized for the work you were doing. Got to travel a lot and no expense was spared.
Cons
Work Life Balance is awful out in the field. There's a lot of talk about fixing it but it never changed. In fact, talked started encouraging us to focus on the quality of the time we were spending at home rather than how often you were seeing your family. If you have a family the this isn't the place to work long term. Great for young type-A college grads but anyone else will eventually struggle. Also, HQ HR often failed to recognize & reward the contributions of people on the ground. This was really a place where who you knew and how you looked drove your career, pay, etc. Did you fit the "Pepsi Co Pretty" model? Did you suck up to the execs? If not, you're excluded from a lot of things.
Advice to Senior Management
You have great talent in your organizations but run so lean that you burn people out. Instead of talking about balance, start committing to fix it. We considered starting a support group for spouses. That shoudn't be necessary and yet was.
Pros
Respected company providing otstanding prducts with a sincere focus on front line performance with ethics.
Cons
As with any company, change and change management is communicated at differing rates. The effectiveness of transition is somtimes reduced by individual understanding.
Advice to Senior Management
The front line management team needs more information to combat product integrity and more insight into the longer term direction regarding offerings and pricing. Knowledge and training will provide the motivation for success.
Pros
1. Very decent working environment (campus landscape, IT equipment, cube settings etc.).
2. Team leader with good sense of direction, considerate attitude, encouragement, and technical specialties.
3. Supportive and nice team members.
Cons
1. more occasions to communicate with field staff can be useful.
2. for technical teams, more chances of training are welcomed.
Advice to Senior Management
it might be even better if we can use more seminars/conferences with peer technical teams from other companies, to keep updated with the industry trend.
Pros
-Great Benefits.
-Great people to work with.
Cons
-Seems like a 7-day, 24hour job. ZERO work life balance.
-Your phone can ring at 3am or even on your days off with an employee calling off.
-If your location isn't "properly staffed", then you'll have to run a route. (That undergrad or Master's will really seem important while driving a Frito truck and delivering chips.)
-Expected to complete lots of admin work while trying to exceed sales each week.
Advice to Senior Management
This entire position needs to be re-evaluated!
Pros
Pay and benefits. The pay is really good for what you do. And I love the relationship that I've built with my customers.
Cons
No opportunities for advancement. They do not hire from within. You never get proper communication from management until its too late.
Advice to Senior Management
Loosen the tie and let some oxygen get to the brain. The management staff doesn't have a clue what's going on.
Pros
Good Health Benefits
Job Security
A real focus on team building and personal growth
Good salary for an entry level position
Cons
Very long hours
No work life balance
Expected to fit 60 hours of work per week into 45
Overtime practices are shady "Chinese overtime"
Advice to Senior Management
We're human beings and like to have some value out of life. Not just increasing the value and profits of Frito
Pros
Big brands that have broad reach and relevance, providing an opportunity to touch consumers lives practically every day. Lean teams and empowerment throughout the organization make it possible to impact a business directly. Strong growth, even in economic down times.
Cons
Pace and level of responsibility make work/life balance a challenge
Advice to Senior Management
As PepsiCo makes a move to operate more on a Power of One basis, incentives need to be aligned across divisions so that plans can be developed jointly rather than in divisional silos.
Pros
Decent Pay and advancement opportunities
Cons
long hours, easy to get burnt out
Pros
You are awarded and appreciated for your hard work , the benefits are very good and the people respect each other for the most part . Its a fun food product , the atmosphere is cheerful at our office .
Cons
Long hours , some difficult customers , working out in the weather , hectic schedules, especially holiday weeks .
Advice to Senior Management
Avoid micro managing ... give RSR's more freedome over market decisions .
Pros
The people I worked with were happy to be at work and always helpful.
Management made time for their employees and were honest with feedback on performance.
Necessary tools were easily accessible to be successful at job.
Cons
Not very much push for upward mobility within the Consumer Affairs department.
High employee turnover in the department, which leads to heavy work loads for experienced employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Great job with treating the employees well!
Work better with us to offer advice for development and growth with opportunities to increase our knowledge into more advanced positions.
