Pros
Good Money, Good Benefits, good workout
Cons
Your DSL may not be a people person and you may not hear a thank you or a job well done. Your DSL may no longer understand what it is like in the marketplace and the amount of time it takes to complete your job
Advice to Senior Management
Train your DSL's to be more people friendly and treat their employees with some respect
Pros
Stock options, 401k, and health benefits are incredible.
Cons
The way upper management treats you is totally un called for. The route salesmen are the ones breaking their own backs and getting up at one in the morning.
Advice to Senior Management
Take on more of a "working" role vs TELLING and pointing fingers. Admit fault.
Pros
Great Pay/Benefits, Comission based but excellant products that are easy sale
Fortune 500 company and benefits to match
Cons
Self-Nomination a PR move. If hired as RSR almost-impossible for promotion (Even after college degree)
Very little Reward for achievment
Advice to Senior Management
care alittle, acknowledge hard-work and efforts of overachievers instead of pushing them harder like taskmasters.
Pros
This organization has some great benefits and with the right supervisor they will value your time off.
Cons
Long hours, wear and tear on your car/truck, phone rings all the time, very early mornings and very long nights.
Advice to Senior Management
Must focus on work/life balance and front line management needs a company car.
Pros
Growth Opportunity
Compensation
I like to compete and it allows you to do so
Well Led Organization
Leader in Industry
Cons
Fast Paced and that doesn't work for some people.. If your looking to go through the motions its not for you.. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow/develop/ and provide a better life than its the place to be
Advice to Senior Management
Servant Leadership is a expectation at Frito Lay. We need to ensure that as we go through future transformation within our organization that we do not lose sight of this...
Pros
Great pay compared to similar work elsewhere
Flexible hours for part-time employees
Great workout
Great co-workers
Time goes by very fast
Cons
1. Hourly wage for Warehouser I full-time employees is the same between a new hire and a guy that worked for 5 years. Hourly wage for Warehouser I part-time employees is the same between a new hire and a guy that worked for 5 years.
It might not seem bad at first because pay is high, but once you experience the work standards out there and you have to pick up people's slack (which gets paid the same as you), you will know what I mean.
2. Odd hours for full timers
3. Part-timers get really crappy hours. If you are scheduled 20 hours/week, expect to only work 10 hours that week unless it is around a holiday...then you work up to 40 hours that week.
4. High work standards, you work hard to get your numbers up to 100%
5. Very HOT in the summer
6. Technology messes up weekly, if not daily.
7. Bad work/life balance....Loooooooooong hours. You work till all the orders are fulfilled for that day. It can be 7 hour - 13 hour shift.
8. Management stop caring that employees slack off, which makes it worst for employees that actually want to get the work done and leave for that day.
9. Very physically demanding!
Advice to Senior Management
Management is pretty good but they should really give more feedback to the warehouse employees because if they don't, employees will start slacking off. They should put more time in developing the new hires as well.
Pros
Opportunities to succeed. Personal development. You are empowered to make decisions to move the business forward.
Cons
It can sometimes consume you and might seem like a cult to others. Shiftwork.
Pros
Autonomy in the field; pay above comparable positions
Cons
Early morning hours are a bummer; management expectations sometimes not reasonable in the field
Advice to Senior Management
Relax a bit - your teams are working hard for you
Pros
Great teaching company none better
Cons
No work life balanace expect to run routes a lot.
Advice to Senior Management
Get managers off routes
Pros
Product is easy to sell and most custmers, if treated well, are fun to see on a weekly basis.
Cons
Too much focus on numbers and no real focus on the customer. If the shelves are full and the displays are built and everyone is happy except the DSL or ZSL because you didn't hit their magic number. Plus, management doesn't hold people accountable for doing the basics on the job. They just sit behind their desk and dial for dollars. My advice is not to answer your phone when you know it's them calling. Make them wait cause they aren't ever going to help you out.
Advice to Senior Management
Start caring about the people and before you start in about plan go out and look at the route first. If everything is be executed the shut your mouth and stop whining about plan. Or better yet, come out and show us how to do it. Oh thats right...you became a DSL after only running a route for 3 months and you don't have a clue do you?
