I worked at Froedtert Health full-time

    Pros

I liked the people I worked with and my supervisor. We were like a family. Benefits are good. Generous PTO time, and it can roll over from year to year with opportunity to cash it out. It was pretty easy to get time off in my department. Turnover was very low in my department.

    Cons

Upper management is in their own world. Froedtert is growing too quickly and has just become a money making business with little regard for the hard working employees. Patients are being shuffled around and are frustrated that they are unable to talk to the people they need to. Everything is on a call center now. Employees are frustrated at not having the information needed to transfer patients to the right people. The medical records Dept. was centralized , leading to confusion for everyone, and then was outsourced. I loved my job until Froedtert took over.

    Advice to Management

Take time to listen to the opinions and ideas of the employees. Show appreciation for all the work we do by something other than a cookie once a year, and if you're going to give cookies once a year at least supply enough for everyone. Show appreciation at Christmas and Thanksgiving by providing a complete catered meal and not just frozen meat that we're expected to warm up and suppliment with our own food. Offer incentives. When you downsize people and eliminate their jobs, provide them with the proper info needed for accessing pay stubs and provide them with contact info. in case they need questions answered.

Enormous potential; improvement blocked by politics and bureaucracy.

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule. Minimal micro-managing.

    Cons

No advancement. No competitive pay. Your ideas will have little merit if you are not leadership. Looking for your opinion to be valued? Look elsewhere. Keep your head down and work.

    Advice to Management

Reward your best workers. Leave family dynamics and favoritism at home. Align your value systems used at the hospitals with your corporate culture.

I have been working at Froedtert Health (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, decent pay, patients appreciate what we do for them.

    Cons

Need more staff, longer hours than I would like, cliques and gossiping

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge and recognize our work with a Thank you or job well done. Be available to your staff and listen to their suggestions. Don't sit in your office all day. Job shadow us for few hours to see what we really do. Don't ask us last minute to extend our shift or pick up a shift when the schedule was posted for 1 month ahead of time and nothing was done to find help prior to that and then beg us(and make us feel guilty) to come in or extend our shift. If you do this, then offer us double time.

    Pros

Great hours, decent benefits and PTO, self fulfilling to help others

    Cons

low pay, 0 room for growth, hard work is not noticed

    Advice to Management

I think it would be a good idea to reward hard work and efficiency. Also, pay closer attention to all employees and their work ethics.
