Good place to gain experience and industry exposure

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Houston, TX

I have been working at Frosch Travel full-time for more than 3 years

Pros- Small/family business feel
- Good place to gain corporate experience in a laid back setting
- Can gain good insight and exposure to the travel industry
- Friendly colleagues

Cons- Growing very quickly and beginning to lost the family business model
- Lack of opportunities for growth
- Upper management doesn't believe in reviews or raises
- Very poor internal comunication (upper management seems to like to keep everything a secret)
- Terrible benefits/insurance package and it's pretty expensive

Advice to Senior Management- Implement a plan to provide regular performance reviews with potential for raises, promotions, etc.
- Slow the growth of the company so the infrastructure and employees will have a chance to keep up

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

A great place to gain experience in the travel industry

I have been working at Frosch Travel

ProsFlexible, great IT help, lots of technology to help you get the best pricing

ConsNo formal training for Frosch internal procedures for new hires. older people that are set in there ways and will not try to learn and use what Frosch offers in technology. " Its a time warp"
Office setting very unprofessional, no support as a team, rude and lots of cussing going on out loud. Very negative atmosphere, no team building, brings you down and stressed with all the negative karma. Corporate needs to come clean house and get down on managers not taking charge.

Advice to Senior ManagementCome clean house and get offices to mandatory get with the technology times. Need to put guidelines in place, build and great support teams. have team meetings to be more successful and get out of the way things worked in the last century.

I have been working at Frosch Travel full-time for more than a year

ProsThey keep employees around a really long time as long as the personalities fit. They will shuffle you around to keep you in the company.

ConsNo training, no way to start low and move up. Internal job postings are not real positions, you can apply but no one will ever talk to you about it. No raises. It is a playground for the Owner, his family, and friends. External hires over internal hires. The age range is older so the insurance is horrible to accommodate older employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in your employees several of them would like to move up but there is no way and no where for them to go.
