I have been working at Fugro Chance full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Fugro itself is a great company. Everyone that works there is very easy to get along with. Real good medical, dental, and vision insurance. Fugro's 401K plan matches you up three percent and matches half up to 6%. Can be an exciting job working offshore sometimes. Loyal to their employees. Pay is good

    Cons

It is hard to make plans because your schedule is never set.
    Involves a lot of driving.
Away from home a lot for several weeks at a time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A set rotation schedule would be nice and little more money never hurts.

I have been working at Fugro Chance

    Pros

Excellent company to work for...if you don't mind waiting forever for a promotion or to get paid competitively!
Co-workers are top notch people...Family atmosphere
Big Corporation…resources to do job the right way.
    Very easy going company.
Training and education opportunities are good...depending on your manager.

    Cons

    Pay is not competitive!
Those who do the work are often the ones that are under paid.
Mid-level managers don't have the stroke they should or the gall to get top-performing employees the pay they deserve.
Management often turns their head to known problems (i.e., Incompetency of some managers and workers).
Those who screw up don't receive consequences. In fact, it's an ongoing joke in the company that you have to screw up majorly to get promoted!
Cost of living/"Merit" raises are often given across the board. Those who actually put out have to share the pie with those who are costing through life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more time to assess the talent in your organization. Be more aware of who does the work and keeps departments running and who doesn't. There are quite a few people in the organization that do not perform up to par (quite a few are managers). These under-performing managers merely let those trying to make something of their self do all the work and they sit back and coast to retirement. It's time to get rid of the "good ole boy" mentality and cut the dead weight! Those who perform should be recognized and paid accordingly. Otherwise your top-performers will become "disengaged" (as I have) and look for advancement opportunities elsewhere (which I'm currently doing). Fugro Chance is a great company to work for but that doesn't put food on the table and clothes on the back. I have to say, I'll be sad to leave the company after devoting 10+ years of service. It's unfortunate that management doesn't take the opportunity to do the right thing even after the problem was brought to their attention 2 years prior.

    Pros

You deal with some of the best technology in the survey business.

    Cons

There is few promotions for people who excel in there field work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should look to give more opportunities to younger employee's for project management.

  7.

    I worked at Fugro Chance

    Pros

Flexible hours, market stability, training provided for emerging technologies, some team-building, great people to work with, good latitude to work with

    Cons

No room to move up unless you wish to relocate/transfer for most cases. Some degree of flexibility seems to be extended to only certain individuals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plenty of money has been spent on surveys and also meetings regarding what is best for the future of the company. It seems that most of the time these actions are simply documented and forgotten. Many good ideas have surged from the lowest professional rankings but have failed to be taken into serious consideration due to a higher power dissolving the ideas without justification. The company has a great stronghold in the market and will continue to do so if the correct moves are played. The company should stop trying to point at an individual and slapping a title on them just to make them responsible for a certain role. There are reasons why people in the real world have titles and aren't merely labels. The company should definitely welcome third party reviews and benefit from the expertise that an objective eye can provide.
