I have been working at Fuji Xerox full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Colleagues are highly professional with a strong work ethic. The total compensation seems to be above the average. Product and service quality for customers is paramount and is embedded into every aspect of the company.

    Cons

Learning and career development is lacking. It is a very slow progression pattern and this can be a bit discouraging. The slow pace of new services development is due to the multitude of seemingly endless need for management approval, even for the straight forward issues.

    large sale force

hardware centric selling into price war
    not multi-national

Current Employee - Software Engineer in Yokohama, Kanagawa (Japan)

I have been working at Fuji Xerox as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Training: The company provides enough equipment to get you to work. As a software engineer who does not know Japanese, the Japanese version OS bugged me for a while but eventually I managed.
    - Canteen is great, with dozens of choices everyday. One meal cost 400-600 yen average.
    - The facility has great view of the surrounding area
    - Flexible working hour: arrive at 8:30 - 10:00, leave at 5:05 - up to whenever you want, at time to 5:05 if you arrive later than 8:30

    Cons

    - You receive requests from your superior and try to do that, sticking strictly to those request ONLY. They don't care if you found anything more interesting/worth noting other than what they requested.
    - I worked under "ukeoi" type contract but it was a typical "giso-ukeoi" situation (I received orders directly from FujiXerox), hence, is illegal. Also, I received a pretty low salary (lower than fresh-grad English teacher) for a 2 year experience software engineer with a Master degree and full control of written and spoken English.

    I worked at Fuji Xerox

    Pros

Large organisation with regional APAC presence. Highly structured but rigid.

    Cons

No room for autonomy and creativity. Career progression for non-Japanese is almost impossible. Senior positions are dominated by Japanese. A highly micro-managed environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Breakthrough results will never be attained with the way the company is being managed and run.

I worked at Fuji Xerox full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Decent payouts for sales staff
    Energetic and bright environment

    Cons

No proper sales structure for sales staff.
Got to fight with your own channel partners for sales. It's hard enough fighting with competitors, its just sick fighting with your own brand.
Sales managers *might* not be the most efficient in terms of sales skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Constantly work with sales people to improve their skills. Record pitches. Record presentations. Everything.
