Pros
Salary is good but recognition of work and promotions are quite limited. Benefit package is about average long term prospects are average
Cons
Not much information sharing. Highly structured management hierarchy not easily to get promoted into the inner management ring; long term prospects are average
Advice to Senior Management
Improve on communication and foster goals and purpose for the whole team. Do not have differential treatment but should have open criteria for promotion
Pros
Good employees and leaders with the Enterprise Business
Cons
Company struggled during economic downturn.
Advice to Senior Management
Utilize your employees to their fullest potential.
Pros
For the self-directed there are many opportunities to get things done and learn.
Cons
Management is wholly disconnected from the folks in the field. After years of losing money and personnel cuts, the same management team is in place.
Advice to Senior Management
Clean house and renew the sense of mission and caring. Start listening to the marketplace and developing products and services that are truly unique.
Pros
The company as a whole is a good profiting company. It just depends on which subsidiary you work in and how your department is. Benefits are good I would say above average compared to other companies in the same industry.
Cons
Depending on which subsidiary you work for and which department, it can be terrible. The team was not diverse. Upper management was unprofessional and unstructured. Code management barely existed.
Advice to Senior Management
Get a more diverse team.
Pros
It has a very balanced work/life environment. The people are great and the management is pretty solid. They have a good balance of products and services but none are at the top of the spectrum. However, they just changed their model and will be focusing on more services and are vertically aligned. You won't get rich but you'll live comfortably.
Cons
The products are high quality but it's a 'me too' with the hardware platforms. They also do not have a well established brand in the US (although they are huge in Japan). The pay for a sales professional is below average. They definately manage your income and to the low side.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay your top earners the industry rate for compensation. It's why everyone is leaving...
Pros
Good company. Good people. Good culture
Cons
Hierarchical company .. too much politics
Advice to Senior Management
Improve work culture. Be more market focussed. Move mgmet to the Us for Us operations. Don;t be Japan focussed. Help employees move ahead in their careers.
Pros
Benefits are above average. Immediate management is responsive and supportive of their direct reports. Great place to break into the industry education is available from day one in many different areas.
Cons
Upper management lacks leadership. Communication is minimal regarding the focus and direction of the company. Inter-department support is very cumbersome if it can even be facilitated. The sales force is working with very limited viable products.
Advice to Senior Management
Work at maintaining and growing your existing customer base. Leadership comes from the top down and is a requirement for any service company to be a viable alternative to proven competitors.
Pros
Stability and not too much work pressure. Decent pay and bonuses. If you want to spend some quite time in life than yes this is a great company to be in. There are some decent people working here but most of the people are taking it easy. I don't blame them as the work is cyclical and work comes in spurts. Additionally, its a small place and you will get to know almost every one.
Cons
Management is not competent and folks who are politically active are the ones that get promotion. No processes in place for promotions and work is almost never appreciated.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on your processes to create competitive work place and find out whats going on from the employees that are under your first line managers.
Pros
If you want a place to coast until retirement you can join the other "living dead" that inhabit the place
Cons
Management focused only on bottom line, no resources, company unable to compete properly, lots of very senior people who do nothing just waiting to retire
Advice to Senior Management
There is nio point in giving them advice as they have stated they do not care what employees think
