Current Employee – been working at Fulcrum Analytics full-time
Pros – The work is challenging, but there's lots of support from managers and your team. The work environment is great as well as the people that work here. There's lots of opportunities to get recognized for producing great work. The company sponsors after work social events every month that give employees a chance to have fun and get to know each other outside of work. Fulcrum has a very open environment where people at all levels feel comfortable talking openly to managers at all levels including the CEO. Fulcrum also has a very generous vacation policy and people are allowed to work from home when needed.
Cons – Client work can be very demanding and challenging. Extra hours and some weekend time is sometimes required to meet project deadlines. If you're a slacker, this isn't the place for you. You'll be asked to step up and contribute; but your good work is recognized, appreciated and rewarded.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to encourage collaboration.

Current Employee – been working at Fulcrum Analytics
Pros – Fulcrum has a great collaborative culture where people work together and are committed to delivering great work. There's very little politics and managers reward employees who make an impact rather than face time and CYA experts. The work is fast paced and there's plenty of opportunities to get out of your comfort zone and develop new skills.
Fulcrum is growing and adding clients in several industries so there's always new work and new teams being put together.
Cons – The work is client-driven so it can be intense when leading up to big deliverables and deadlines. Sometimes, as a smaller company there isn't as much support as people coming from big companies will be used to.
Advice to Senior Management – Management should more explicitly lay out the career development path for the various positions at Fulcrum. There are many routes to advancement but it's not always clear for junior and mid-level folks what they all are or how to take advantage of them. More clarity up front would help.

Former Employee – worked at Fulcrum Analytics
Pros – Departments outside analytics seemed to offer a slightly better quality of life. The management is competent but will expect very high performance standards. They will also give a small bonus each year. You will have heavy responsibilities here so there's definitely the expectation that you will do much more in your position than other firms with similar job descriptions. They are very technical and there's no made up funny numbers here - they are honest in their work with clients.
Cons – Very impatient management in the analytics department. They don't bother to fully explain what they want you to do, then get annoyed if you ask questions for clarification. There's not much training, they will expect you to just figure out stuff on your own. Hours are extremely long for pay that is not exactly competitive - expect to kiss your social life goodbye if you work here. You will work investment banker hours for far less compensation. The business is small so there's alot of overload when new clients are signed. If you don't manage to deal with the rocket-high expectations adequately, they will simply fire you with no prior notice, and this happened to other workers in the analytics department who made the sacrifice of relocating all the way to this area. Beware if you interview, they will say that they will keep you busy, but they will not tell you they want investment banker type commitments.
Advice to Senior Management – Fully disclose that your analytics department is looking for high-performance individuals that are willing to work 60+ hour weeks and have no social life in your interviews, rather than pretend that there is a work-life balance.
