I worked at Fulcrum Microsystems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Co-workers are great to work with. HR is excellent for a small company. The executives are high-flyers and will travel far in the industry.

    Cons

There is pecking order within management leading some functional areas to be considered second class. Founders are very stubborn and often have to be maneuvered around. Pay scale is ten years out of date.

    Advice to Management

    Give the engineers a raise.

I worked at Fulcrum Microsystems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Mutual respect, high intellectual challenge.

    Cons

    Uneven work ethic throughout organization.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on work ethic than intelligence when hiring development and support people.

    Pros

Nothing that i can think of, except for the good climate of southern california

    Cons

Job insecurity,a technology thats not used anywhere and deadlines that keep on extending forever(i really wonder what lies the management says to the clients to justify our long delays in delivering our products)

    Advice to Management

If you only hire people when you think that you can utilize them 100% all the time , then project delays are bound to happen because of man power issues. So rather than foolishly boasting about the amount of work you are trying to get done by a minimum work force , get realistic and hire more people and try meeting the deadlines first. This will also ease the pressure on the exsisting employees
