    Pros

Beautiful campus, good students, good retirement plan, good faculty and staff, and it is located in a growing city (Greenville).

    Cons

Furman has had some leadership challenges over the past few years, and it still seems to be groping for its strategic direction. With new leadership, this will (hopefully) be addressed.

    Advice to Management

Develop a cohesive strategic plan that takes into account the relative strengths of the faculty, staff, students, and physical assets, and stop pursuing distractions that current students and their families do not care about.

    Pros

Good opportunities for students to make money and gain experience. Jobs are easy to obtain and the pay is consistent.

    Cons

The student work programs could be improved by offering more sophisticated work as students become more competed. More challenging jobs become harder to obtain as students get closer to graduation.

    Pros

-Get discount on housing -Get to meet cool residents

    Cons

-Very disorganized -does not care about the resident assistants -overworked -new managers are unsure of what to do.

    Advice to Management

The new managers need to be better taught and trained on their positions. They put off a lot on the students and then don't inform them of changes. They also pick favorites. They are unaware of how life truly functions for Furman students. They say they are here to make their life better and enjoyable, but do not listen to what the RA say and advised. Instead they want Furman to be like other schools..causing many RAs to be overworked and never connect with their students.

    Pros

Payments are always on time and the staff that you work with are very friendly. Students are always in need of tutoring, so you set your own hours.

    Cons

Pay structure changed nearly every year that I was there

    Advice to Management

Keep stricter tabs on student tutors.

    Pros

As a student working on campus is ideal. Most departments recognize your class and social needs and allow you to plan your hours to fit with your life. Good pay with good hours without being overworked. Oftentimes the full-time employees at furman will help students land jobs for summers and after school.

    Cons

Student workers are often paid pretty low wages. Good for weekly spending money but not much else. For students who do not have the financial support of parents, working on campus will not necessarily give you the biggest pay out.
