Pros
Futureshop, at least the retail operations side of things, is not the type of place you would want to commit to for a long-term career, but as an employment opportunity for part-timers finishing their school, this is a great place to learn & grow. Unlike Best Buy which has targets you still need to meet, but no commission stucture, at Futureshop you have the opportunity to be paid what you're worth.
The sales training and opportunity to interact with customers is an invaluable asset that you can carry forward for future careers. You also learn to be technically proficient which gives you an edge compared to other retail companies where you sell the same basic products each day.
Cons
The repetitiveness of selling the same services (warrenties, installations, etc) over and over again can be a real drain over time.
Sales performance is everything, if you cannot sell and make your numbers you will struggle at Futureshop. However if you are a natural salesperson you should fit in very easily.
For full-time employment in sales, futureshop isn't what it used to be. Commissions have been cut drastically and the target demographic for workers there is getting younger and less professional each year. It is becoming more and more like a regular retail store as opposed to commission-based venue like a car dealership.
