New CEO... Finally! The sacking was long overdue

    Pros

A New team, new board, new CEO. new transparency and possibly some real culture

    Cons

recent CEO was sacked and it took the board far too long. we lost a lot of time, never built a culture and lost a lot of money and market momentum. New CEO is fresh, young and hungry and that's good. New Chairman actually cares and wants to make it work. We did lose enormous amounts of talent and I don't know if we can recover from that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    work hard, be transparent

I have been working at Fuze full-time

    Pros

Lots of great hard-core technical work. So good place to learn a lot. New management seems more transparent, and might actually have a chance of turning this company around.

    Cons

The energy seems to have been sucked out of this place, since the last debacle. Employees have a very negative outlook towards the future of the company, and that create a vicious negative cycle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company needs something to really push employees in a positive state. Success of course is the biggest motivator. But until then what ? Management really needs to give this more thought.

    I worked at Fuze full-time

    Pros

    free food/ free liquor
    gym subsidy
Office locations in SF, Palo Alto and Seattle

    Cons

Political, high-stress, chaotic, toxic work environment
Management by fiat, fear and being passive aggressive
Very little done to retain good employees. High churn rate.
    Favoritism
    No bonuses
    No annual raises
The free food is often mediocre quality and unhealthy; it seems like it's done mostly to keep the worker bees onsite
"Unlimited PTO" - Hardly. It just means you don't accrue vacation time as an earned benefit
"Perks" like Friday lunches are referred by management as "Culture"
Telecommuting not allowed for some departments (hypocritical/odd considering their marketing/product)
    No professional development
    No transparency re stock options
There's almost no marketing of the product. Fuze continues to be a small player in a big market.
Continual quality/reliability issues with the product and service.
Poor communication re sales. It is not clear whether the infusion of all the ex-Yammer and ex-Salesforce people are making a difference.
The CEO is a high-energy, big ego, slick-talking ex-sales guy who talks a big game. Only time will tell if he can walk the talk. This is his first gig as CEO. He joined Yammer only eight months prior to the Microsoft acquisition, so most of his experience is really from being in sales at Salesforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time for some self inspection and possibly some executive resignations. Great leaders who build things check their egos at the door and allow the team to work without looking over their shoulders. Operating a culture of fear and expendability is unprofessional and counter productive.

    Pros

Platform had a ton of possibility with a full feature set and generally good stability. Time off policies were great. There was an effort to encourage a positive culture. Technical staff was very talented.

    Cons

Management screwed the pooch. It's almost like they couldn't help themselves from messing up a good thing. And the hubris...

    Current Employee - Sales

I have been working at Fuze full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    -Snacks / Beer
    -San Francisco location

    Cons

-Inept Executive / Management Team: the majority of the Executive Team is new and have little to no experience in the space; huge egos; micro-management; constant changes with decisons
-Failing product: can't sell the product with continuous problems; the product executives from the UX and technical sides have failed at every level
-Dismal Sales: no new significant sales; revolving door of sales people
-Culture Clash: culture is non-existent because of high turnover; all the great employees that built and believed in the company and product have left or were fired; those remaining are searching for other opportunities or will be fired
    -Overall a very toxic environment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

New Executive Team only cares about trying to make a buck by selling to a bigger company. They blew through millions of investment money on other high paying team mates from Yammer or Microsoft, as well as other insignificant "perks." Less than a year and now seeking more money.
Invest in better people and the product, and less emphasis on trying to fill your own pockets.

    Pros

    SF location
Internally, people think the brand is game-changing
    Snacks on Fridays

    Cons

    It's a brand that can't take off.
    No success.
    No one uses this technology.
People get hired and fired all of the time.
Recently laid off over 60 people.
    Joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Either fix the problem or just call it quits. No one uses this technology. Maybe it's time to surrender once and for all. Don't you think?

    Pros

Exciting time to join the company as the wheels are coming on and it's starting to really gather some speed in the market! Employees are encouraged to give their feedback, opinions and thoughts consistently to build the product and the culture. The executive team are incredibly capable and have incredible track records, in the same breath they are all down-to-earth, approachable types that recognize the importance of having a transparent, flatter organizational structure.

    Cons

As with any start-up, there is a lot of change and you wear many hats. If you do not like uncertainty and favor structure over autonomy, this may not be your place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's on the UP. So excited to see what is around the corner, next week, month and year.

I worked at Fuze full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun team. Apple products. Great office location in SF. Unlimited PTO - but no one really takes much of it.

    Cons

This company is falling apart from it's foundation. Used to be innovative, but they have missed the mark. The technology is always failing, customers are incredibly dissatisfied, and the data that Fuze has internally makes it impossible to get any work done. Retention rate is the lowest at any sales company I've seen, and many former employees are filing legal cases against Fuze regarding compensation. Not sure about the CEO, but Sales Leadership is absolutely the worst, I'm not even sure the woman in charge has a soul. Would highly recommend not taking a position at this company. It is a sinking ship.
