    Pros

    CEO is a tremendous leader and is the main reason the company is thriving. He does an outstanding job of communicating the goals of the company and what the future plans are. The field sales executives are strong and knowledgeable about the business, very personable and are quick to recognize and reward exceptional performance.
    G&K does a great job of training their employees, especially outside sales reps.

    Cons

    G&K will change their compensation plan without any prior notice because in their words, they have that right to do so at any given time even after the sale is made. Some of their leaders treat their people poorly and talk down to them in front of their peers. Nothing ever happens quickly and decisions are always made by committee which takes forever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Develop your national account reps. Just don't fly into town and criticize when you don't spend any time with them.
    Shorten the length of time it takes to pay out quarterly bonuses (7 weeks).

    Good support and really focus on developing employees

    Early strat time
    Long days
    It's really not a bad job you have to communicate well and love talking to people everyday.
    As an RSR you have to hustle everyday! If you want a raise you get it your self by selling products into your current customers account.Not the job for lazy people and think this is just a delivery gig.

    It's a paycheck, ask to be a Sr. Sales rep. 5k more a year ;)

    Cons

    From day one working in outside sales you're never told what the job really takes because one one in management knows how to sell it.

    I've known reps that have used this company to finance their job search and had the manager fooled so well they either got away with it or became a shooting star.

    The industry is down and may never return to "the good ol days" You need to learn how to change with the times.

    The health benefits and depending on your supervisor will determine if you are allowed to use vacation time accordingly

    Cons

    The company tells the investors that profits are going up, but how they make their revenue is by closing down the smaller distribution centers and axing employees based upon their titles and not by the business they bring and/or work ethics. Originally, this company seemed to have some type of principal, but now they only seem how to milk their customers by adding unknown chargers even to those from a long term relationship with the company, and over work their employees until their bodies can no longer hang in there or the family situations begin to interfere because they work 6 and sometimes 7 days a week. Office workers are put on a entire different level from the warehouse workers, even if you are more then qualified for a higher position, if the management want you to stay put, they will hire a temp that has an issue with assimilating to the environment for that position before they will allow you the chance. They sent HR to corporate office, in which employees have been let go due to the nature of what they called to report.

    Point is, this is their world, their injustice rules that change accordingly to their needs, if you think there is a chance for moving up from a warehouse worker to anything pertaining to a higher position, or even corporate, you have not a clue, but good luck, you will need it.

    If you can not be considerate of your employees or realize they are above the position you force upon them, take advantage of the hard workers, give rules that not even the office workers have to follow, then maybe you shouldn't have the title to begin with.

    Co-workers and majority of the actual workers are good people to hang and joke around with on a daily basis

    Cons

    Management isn't trusted at any level, they'd throw you under the bus to make themselves look good or threaten you job to try and make more money. Long work days. Your up before the sun working and not done under it goes back down. You can expect to do 50-70 hours a week easily, more if they are short handed. Don't expect to get paid for any extra work or anything over 40.
