    I have been working at G&K Services full-time

    Pros

    Great leadership from corporate. Great local leadership. There is opportunity to move up. This company has multiple examples of RVP's, GM's, and other high level positions occupied by people who started as an hourly crew person.

    Cons

    Every rewarding job is hard. It takes commitment. Things happen that you don't agree with. You work with people who may not be the best at what they do. If you under perform, you might lose your job to someone who can perform. Then you get on GlassDoor to complain. What company will fire people who are doing a great job? Not this one. The pay rate is revealed early in the hiring process. Of you cannot accept the rate, don't take the job. Simple enough.

    Develop better training tools for entry level jobs.

    Pros

    There are no pros for this company. If you are looking to work at a uniform company you should try out UniFirst or Aramark. They actually value their employees!

    Cons

    Management is not qualified to be in the positions they are placed.
    Service will always get a new account wrong regardless if it is the uniforms or the customer service.
    They over promise and under deliver.
    The compensation is horrible for the work put into gaining new accounts.
    Among so many others..

    Get your act together or all should be replaced with competent staff.

    I have been working at G&K Services full-time

    Pros

    Right now the only pro to this job is going to be watching the managers scramble around trying to save their jobs from the coming storm that is about to hit the company as a whole.
    Otherwise, the work crews are a great bunch of guys to work with

    Cons

    Long hours that only get longer with little to no relief or compensation
    Expect to be told that you'll do a 40 hour work week with possible overtime, but you'll never get overtime and will be expected to do in upwards of 60+ hours
    The constant 'Do better' attitude when the routes are constantly being shorted or overbilled customers are left irrate because management does nothing about it other than tell drivers to charge more.
    Being told to increase revenue on a daily basis; you can't get blood from a stone
    Complete lack of respect from management; they have their jobs because of us
    Zero justice from corporate, complaints are ignored and just repeated to local management for them to deal with; threatening jobs or terminating people for complaints
    Zero rewards for any work above and beyond; promising a 'chance' at extra money if you can guarantee the company will make money money with a contract. Odd how they want guarantees for themselves, but only offer a possible chance to the people actually doing the work.
    Constant Lip service from management that you know they will never actually come through for

    You brought it all upon yourselves. Should have treated the employees like they had value and were respected instead of like they were your personal vassals that were required to fulfill your every whim.

    Pros

    when you are first hired you are promised the world, lots of money, team work and no pressure, for someone with a second job and income it's OK, but you will work long hours with no help, just to generate money so other can sit in a office and not pull there wait., again remember they promise the world, but they wont be able to deliver.

    Cons

    culture and diversity, yes but it's only to meet quotas at the end of the day any complaint by customers while you do your job as per company policy, you will be hang to dry. as far as pay, you will never have a chance to figure that out, when it's convenient your are salary and if not commission. so at the end of the day every credit written by a manager or there helper comes out of your pocket not there's. as an only income you will not support a family.

    you really can't advise folks that wont hear you. management is changed out quicker that anyone can change underwear, but the smell is always the same, you need straight shooters to stop giving the profit away and a real way of keeping them accountable, there paycheck comes from does working under them, so they should work as hard not just sit in the office and enjoy the free ride until they get replaced, hope you guys some day come up with a real equal opportunity program and nondiscrimination program, that way you can take care of your own, then and only then you can be a great company to work for.

    Pros

    A refreshing view of unity between my fellow brothers and sisters
    Sitting back knowing that a change in the status quo is going to be happening
    Knowing that a great many managers are about to be on the outs

    Cons

    Hours: Currently expected to do whatever hours are necessary to get everything done while only getting paid a base salary for 40.
    Don't expect fair pay until the vote for unionization comes. They believe they don't have to follow the DOL laws because they claim DOT certification and then turn around and pretend they don't have to follow DOT laws because you're paid a salary.
    Middle Management: Don't trust any of them, even the ones that were once in the trenches. They sold themselves for the chance at more money by squeezing it out of those that were once their brothers and sisters
     Upper management: They are a joke that only care about numbers. The more money they can save by working you to death without paying you, the better.
    HR: These people are a joke. They will use any excuse to try and make you think you should be happy for the crumbs thrown your way and will try and convince you that you'll be worse off with representation and will lose all the benefits that a union will secure for you

    Give it up. Too many have seen the light and are waiting for the chance to vote to bring an end to the way you treat us. There will be no more terminations of those that actually stand up for their legal rights. Especially when they took the precautions of recording the facts. Just waiting for the Department of Labor to finally send him back to work.

    Pros

    Unity between the workers of the various departments
    Chance to make future business connections with your customers
    Understanding from the customers that know its not your fault

    Cons

    Complete lack of loyalty to the employees or even the customers.
    Get used to irrate customers that get even more so when nothing gets done to correct their issues, but have their contracts thrown in the face and threatened with legal action if they try to quit.
    There is no work life balance.
    You are expected to live and breathe only for the benefit of the company and nothing else
    Expect to be told you'll do a 40 hour week only to be forced into 50 to 60+ hours and only paid for 40
    Don't expect to ever get sick... its not allowed
    Don't ever get injured... you'll stay that way and be blamed for it
    Don't ever expect to stand up for your legal rights... you'll be fired

    Remember that it is the employees that are the face of your company and responsible for how you are viewed.
    If the employee is unhappy or mistreated... the customer will know it and deal with it appropriately by ending service

    And stop having HR or your management teams fill the board with fluff pieces that everyone can see for what they are.
    They practically all say the same thing and lame attempts to hype the company image and try to kiss up

    non what so ever, worst company imaginable

    Cons

    After almost 20 years I had to no choice to retire worst t company ever everything had to be life or death situation in order for me to have off, vacations were denied 2 weeks before they began and sometimes 3 days before they began. no work life balance one day I would work early morning 3am to 1 pm others days 1 pm to 3pm and overtime is never voluntary imagine wanted to go home to see your family after not seeing them all week since your work schedule would not allow and then having to stay later because they need you to do overtime. many time I was forced to stay a few minutes past my time and not get paid.

    advice to company ceo is to evaluate each location especially Miami. maybe join undercover boss

    Pros

    Co-works were awesome. Unfortunately turnover happened on a monthly basis. No one stays for more than a year.

    Cons

    Sales Manager is terrible!!! No help other than a one on one meeting. Low pay and you constantly have to be looking over your shoulder. You either quit or they fire you in the first few months.

    Have your management live your supposed core values. Invest time with your people and help develop your people.
