Current Employee – been working at G4S full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Co-workers are great. They make the job bearable.
Cons – No raises. No bonuses. Increase in insurance premium on an almost yearly basis. Hostile environment at local office. Pay issues are prevalent. Policy is changed on the spot in order to benefit management.
Advice to Senior Management – Work in the field. Recognize the great employees you do have. Foster a more inclusive environment.

Current Employee – been working at G4S full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – While you'll never be paid much this isn't a bad organization to work for.
Cons – This company certainly has its fair share of issues.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on local management i.e. Regional & Site Superviors.. Try standardizing more management processes because you often find yourselves with bad managers.

Current Employee – been working at G4S full-time for more than a year
Pros – Very easy job assignments, most on the job work efforts are geared at conducting surveillance of a area. In short very little "physical" work is involved.
Cons – Huge multi-conglomerate company. As with most large corporations the interpersonal communications between corporate and there branches or even worse individual employees is deplorable. Some issues with pay can take up to six weeks to be corrected.
Advice to Senior Management – Work on better open lines of communication with your employees at ground level they are the people keeping your company moving and make up the largest percentage of your general staff. Most decisions on their activities are motivated buy gross profits and not in favor of the majority who will apply them.

Former Employee – worked at G4S
Pros – 1.Good work for students and retired people
2. Most of the entry level guards and lower supervision are generally good hardworking people that deserve better than this company treats them.
Cons – 1.Low Pay
2.No raises (worked for G4S for several years not a single raise, ever.)
3.Poor health benefits
4.Management will cheat you out of your overtime or wages.
5. Management will lie to you and leave you out to hang while they cover their hides.
6. Total incompetence from bottom to top and I assume it's like this at all G4S offices and post.
7. G4S is a cheap company that won't shell out for equipement, uniforms, etc. Even if you asked for it over a year ago.
8. Management tries its hardest to make people (usally the elderly and whistleblowers) quit or fired by writing them up over trival things others would get away with.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your employees they're the only real resource you got.

Current Employee – been working at G4S full-time for less than a year
Pros – The work is stable, they do pay you for overtime and holiday hours, the posts I've been to have all been good, and they don't have a problem giving you new uniforms if you need them.
Cons – They like playing favorites when it comes to promotions. A guy I work with hasn't been with the company for a month and he's offered a promotion while I have been there for months and equally as qualified yet I'm ignored. When I asked about an opening (after being told there was one but 2 Street Captains) for Street Captain I was told there wasn't while a coworker was told there was.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't lie to your employees, and if you're going to reprimand one person but not another for the same offense that doesn't look good on you. Also stop playing favorites and let anyone qualified for a position have a shot at it.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
