    There are no pros at this company

    Cons

    There is no possibility to use earned vacation days. Why? The Site Coordinators and captains get paid a managers salary and an take an officers post (usually Mon - Fri w/ Sat and Sun off); therefore, earning two incomes. Then the SC or captain gets the G4S and the contracted site benefits, i.e.: days off. By, a manager (an exempt employee) taking up a non-exempt position, security officer position, it puts undue strain on the security staff, forcing overtime an extra duties that the SC/captain refuses to do while posing as a security officer. Thus the sites are perpetually short staffed.

    Pros

    Supervisor was great! shifts are very strict; If you do not get relieved, you must stay until the post gets relieved by the supervisor or any guard. Winter time is very difficult, because calling out in the middle of a storm, means that someone has to stay in the building.

    Cons

    There is terrible communication between management and employees. I personally believe that there was some gap in the upper chain of command, where control got lost. Pay is very low.

    Pros

    Decent pay for an entry level job. If you enjoy a quiet job where you can spend hours reading you would probably enjoy this.

    Cons

    Few opportunities, disorganized regional offices, regional offices are very very slow at responding to concerns and issues with local offices. Very boring and meaningless work.

    Force your regional offices to become more organized so they can respond to the needs of the local offices faster.

    Leadership and employees were very professional; good pay and benefits; uniforms and equipment were professional; training was thorough; flexible schedules and overtime opportunities; sponsorship program available for those wanting to attend BLET; referral bonus; supervisors were flexible on transfers if positions were available at other locations; law enforcement were on site to address law violations; meaningful work; most customers appreciated our job.

    Some of the customers were disrespectful but most were very pleasant.

    Pros

    My work colleagues are great to work with and the particular department I work in at Lewisham hospital can be very adventurous at times.

    Cons

    Unfortunately I have had 8 contract managers in 5 or so years, it seems that higher management seem to be shipped in and out on a very regular basis. It would be nice to actually get to know one of our contract managers.

    You should consider employing Contract managers from within the particular arm of the business they are to manage. I have had many contract managers that didn't have any idea to exactly what we did in the department and subsequently decided to leave or have been told to because of the nature of the contract.

    I understand the military background however how is anyone going to report something wrong if everyone gets punished and not the one person that did something wrong. Sounds a bit backwards if you ask me.
