I have been working at GAVS Technologies full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I can't believe I have completed 5 yrs with GAVS technologies and still want to continue for many more years. I have no hesitation in mentioning that it has been a rewarding one. The journey has been very challenging but the faith that the management and senior team mates have shown in me have made me accept these challenges and I have completed them successfully.Organizational cultural, knowledge sharing, interpersonal relations, understanding and cooperation with seniors are few of the qualities which compel me to continue with GAVS
Whenever we join an organization there is always a feeling how it would turn out to be.
Personally speaking, from the day I joined GAVS Technologies, everyone made me feel as if I have become part of a family. The work atmosphere here is amazing and you get great opportunities and freedom to take up new challenges. You also get chances to enhance your technical skills overall personality.

    Cons

Serious ... Nothing that i know

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would be great if preference is given for sporting activities also .. cricket, volleyball etc during weekends.

I have been working at GAVS Technologies full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Have been associated with the company for more than 10 years and I am extremely happy about the decision I made. Dedication and smart work will always be rewarded. A right size company that has positive of a small size company with quick growth oppurtunities as well as project experience that will be associated with big sized company. Have always had the luxury of reaching the management for issues at all times. I am happy that I have grown with the company and the challenges that are brought up with the growth. Management and Managers are happy with your success and always keep pushing. They are also personally involved and motivate. I attribute all my success to GAVS and it has made a indelible mark in my life and my future.

    Cons

Always there are improvements and things like non direct benefits to employees could be improved. Internal get together with employees across different geographies could be increased.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Getting more feedback from Line managers and addressing issues could improve overall employee satisfaction, I am seeing a lot of effort being put on that by Management.

I worked at GAVS Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

When i joined this organisation, i was in two minds, the only reason being i wasn't sure if i made the right decision, But just a month after i joined, i was amazed and felt really blessed to be part of GAVS, I got tremendous support from all the departments and my manager. The sales was driven very well and people of all levels were engaged and united and their one motive was growth for the organization. Very nice processes and procedures. Being a sales person, we had a lot of expense reimbursement and unlike other organizations i worked for, here the expense reimbursement process was set perfect and it was reimbursed as per the process on time, no follow up was required. GAVS has a very good CEO, he is based out of India, but hardly in India, he would travel to all GAVS offices and have one on one conversations with all of us and even and understand our concerns. What i noted, was when i was with him to meet one of our existing customers, he would go and meet our associates to who worked at client location and understand if they had any issues. The best thing i saw here was, the management was open to feedback and there was direct access to the management, any issues were addressed timely, its unfortunate i had to leave GAVS, but will hope one day i am back here. thanks GAVS for all the learning you have given to me. Miss this place

    Cons

Honestly, not i know off. Employee get together once in 3 or 6 months, would help connecting with each other

I have been working at GAVS Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It is a privelege to work for GAVS, form day 1 it has been a learning experience for me and every day there is something new on the table for me to learn at GAVS. My spouse started his career with GAVS and i knew what a wonderful company it was, he worked with GAVS from its inception for about 10 years. when i was called for the interview, without any hesition i accepted the offer and till date do not regret for the decision i have made. Being a mother of two small kids, i have complete flexibiliy from my Assitant controller and controller to mange my family whenever they required me to be there for them, they have taken care of me really well and any problems were sorted out quickly. The management has always been very kind to me and when they are here in office, they would come up to me ask me if i have any concerns and also take my sugestions if an change is required in the current office set up. After a 10 year break in my career, i wasnt sure how i would manage work and family, bu indeed my family and work is managed very well because of the flexibility i have at this place. There is an opportunity of gaining tremendous knowlege at this place and i make sure i do not miss any. My manager makes sure that i am nurtured well and i was given an oppotunity to go various tranings and certifications, which always adds up value to my career. Thank you to GAVS as always for the help and support rendered to me.

    Cons

Nothing at all. A perfect place to work and learn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wish you all the very best and i envision GAVS as one of the best companies in the world in the coming years.

    Pros

    On site employee where helpful

    Cons

Worst HR department i have ever seen, Late paychecks, Money missing from paycheck, pay rate was lowered until i noticed then corrected. Deductions for insurances i never requested.

    Very Shady

Training is non existence - Was excited that VMware training was scheduled, turns out it was a photo copy of a book in PDF. That was it, that was training.

No new employee trainin - no document of who to contact for HR benefits, manager numbers.

Good luck trying to find someone to help you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think of your employees as assest's not cattle, Invest money in certifications and training.

I worked at GAVS Technologies (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Good customers - have quite a few long running customers and most of them are very good and supportive
    - RIM practice - has good set of engagements
    - Good starting ground for freshers - There is always baptism by fire for those who are willing
    - Location - Right at the heart of the city or maybe the lungs :-)
    - Food arrangements - B/F, Lunch and dinner - costed to the employee but good
    - Salary - competitive

    Cons

    - Leadership: Family run non-transparent company. The brothers sing and everyone have to dance to their tunes. The only co-owner who made business sense has been dumped is the rumor
    - Values; $ talks nothing else - many fancy abbreviations on values are there for the less knowledgeable - but none that is followed
    - The three year itch: Every three years we see changes driven by the owners/senior management. Changes are made - drastic, illogical - and of course no consideration for employees. A developer/lead/middle manager would have a minimum of three managers a year
    - Direction: Its like a rudderless vessel, reorgs etc happen at least twice every year
    - Employee Friendliness:
    a) Non existent human side to HR. Always wanting to show other departments had not done something well rather than together working things out. HR issues - they are never wrong on what they have done.
    b) GAVS ensures that you update your profile every month - layoffs, resignations (at all levels-mgmt) are the order of the day and one needs to be connected with the job market to have some peace of mind back here
    c) Anything that means money is out of reckoning - training, team outings/dinners etc. Even the limited parking is charged back to the employee
    d) God forbid if your limits are stretched or if your parents need insurance - no support. The cheapest insurance policy in market is what we have
    e) Appraisals - happens twice a year but strategy is to extend it being rendered every year till the month before the next appraisal - the only winner - the owners
    - Processes - All fancy accreditation would be displayed of the good work done by us long back - the company has not even taken up 1 certification in the last 3-4 years leave alone being certified. internal processes are even more pathetic - as and when leadership changes, the processes also change and with turnover being high you get to see lot of new things being implemented (should I have put this in the Pro section????)
    - Onsite: No clear process on H1, L1 and GC processing - and the agreements they make you sign are archaic - one sided of course
    - Politics - Well Lallu himself may have had problems managing things here - but thankfully its restricted at senior leadership and owners
    - Work balance: 0 bench strength. So if you are a good resource you will be pulled into other projects and can work for 14+ hrs. GAVS believes in round the clock exposure

A new leadership position on risk and compliance has commenced and hopefully it drives many of the things mentioned above better. If it doesnt happen in 2013,
