Pros40 hours a week where nowadays it's a bit hard to find a full time job that's year round and it's a job

ConsManagement is bad. They have no clue about the job. They set standards that are hard to meet plus they don't pay well for people who have been working there long

Advice to Senior ManagementGive raises I was completely lied to in the interview about the pay scale

ProsEmployee camaraderie. The safety department worked well with each other..

ConsUpper management isn't engaged. Management wouldn't respond to e-mails needing decisions and repeatedly canceled meetings. GCA eliminated more than 60% of the risk and safety department.

Advice to Senior ManagementBeware of eliminating employees who have vast institutional knowledge. GCA is putting the company at risk of losing major clients once they realize how deeply GCA has cut its support staff. The company may not have the capability of meeting client expectations.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf any employee exhibits quality assets to progress within the company. Cross train them in other areas so that you can get the full potential that they have to offer. The second recommendation is that you pay more. A lot of your current and past employees feel that you do not appreciate their value for a job well done based on the low wages that have been offered to them for 3 or more years of quality service.

24/7 It Never Stops

I have been working at GCA Services full-time for more than 5 years

ProsBeing a manager it allows me to save some money by using the company vehicle to get everywhere, same with the phone. I have several good employees that are underpaid and underappreciated and that appears to be the way the company likes it.

ConsSales/Senior Regional come into the schools, bid them so freaking low there isn't any possible way for the school to remain under budget. Once the complaints start rolling in, senior management tells us managers to bring in extra help, and then at the end of the month complain we're over budget and to let employees go or move them to an on call status. I have almost 20 schools and they are all the same.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you are winning bids by more than 200k over Janiking, Sudexo and other companies, bid a little higher. Just because you get a "win" in a new contract doesn't make anyone who has to be in that school job any easier.

It is also not unusual for account managers to work 18 hours a day 5 days a week and then have to work 6-8 on Saturday and another 3 hours on Sunday to get payroll done. There are admins all over the place can't they do time and new hire paperwork? Why pay admins, give us their hourly rate since we do 75% or more of their job.
