I have been working at GCA Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best part about this job is that it is so menial that there is no interview required. You just come into the corner office fill out an application, once they do a background check (on your driving history), you attend an orientation then began to work. I would recommend to anyone that needs some type of income.

    Cons

The pay is between 7.25 pr hr and 8.00 pr hr, there is no room for growth UNLESS, you are in their click (preferably related or current friend), the "staff" is unprofessional, and actual management has to travel from other states to rectify personnel issues that transpire from untrained site managers and leaders. Because of lack of professionalism the company is under constant pressure of losing it's contract. The major company employees look on the GCA (contract) employees with disdain, and occasionally cause strife that interferes with you performing your standard operating procedures...and the GCA site managers and leaders will not address the issues with the major company managers for fear of losing the contract. The "office manager" (if you will), was a transporter, and phone operator such as myself, and was recently passed down the position by the former office manager (I believe they were related...same ethnicity), has no professional training and if you have any issues with her friends which are unqualified leads and managers, it will reflect on your schedule...her and the site manager (former transporter as well w/o former management training) will decrease your hours, dock your pay, change your work area, and prey that you quit. The newly implemented "benefits" plan was strategically organized not for the employees benefit, but for the benefit of the company not being charged by the government. The health insurance "plan" is a farce...it is not even worth it. All you are agreeing to is paying out of your check for a "free" annual flu shot.

    Advice to Management

Train those you have "in charge", with titles or hire some real managers so that you will not have constant issues where you have to constantly send management from Florida or the home office to rectify issues...and be in constant fear of losing the contract. Oh, you might have to pay them a realistic salary too, so that might be a shot in the dark, hun?

    Cons

Some employment not Worth the pay

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding and give people of color a chance to move up with in the company. Stop looking over them and trying to patch any mistakes other people had made.

I worked at GCA Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There have been some good field people to work with and for, excellent industry knowledge.

    Cons

If CEO doesn't like you then you are gone, no matter how loyal of good you are. They are replaced with unemployed family and or former employees of the CEO's prior employers. There is such a lack of trust in the leadership of the company.

    Advice to Management

CEO should be honest with himself and evaluate his key management team and replace existing with qualified, experienced and morally ethical/honest leadership. It might mean looking backwards and finding those he lost.

    Pros

Strong company with good growth. Many opportunities to relocate and open new regions. You get out of it what you put into it. Easy to make a name for yourself if you work hard.

    Cons

Profit, profit, profit. This is all that matters. You will be forced to lie to your clients in order to make or exceed your budget. Your budget will be minimal, yet they will continually ask you to beat it. Corporate office does not support the field teams much. It is either their way or no way.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the field teams. They make the money not people sitting in an office. Quit bidding to win it.

I worked at GCA Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I found it an Interesting line of work. The ability to hire and manage your own team. Although demanding at time the work schedule allowed some flexibility in your daily schedule.

    Cons

The lack of support and training by middle and upper management was discouraging. Pay for location or onsite workers was low for the expectations demanded. Underbid bidding on contracts prevented proper onsite operations.

    Advice to Management

Stop under bidding just to "get the contract". It creates an impossible task for account managers to provide customer service and sets the entire team up for failure.
