Former Employee – worked at GCA Services full-time for less than a year
Pros – Decent pay Decent hours. Work on a team
Cons – Managers don't really care if your sick or not. Health Insurance sucks. Be prepared to repeat yourself when talking to other employees as most are not from the USA

Former Employee – worked at GCA Services full-time for more than a year
Pros – They're focus on safety is top rate. The management places a high emphasis on it.
Cons – The company's focus on sales revenues, not profit margins leaves no margin of error to perform up to the expectations of both upper management and the customer. The actual cleaners and the direct management take on all the pressure, repercussions, and ultimately customer complaints when something is not accounted for in the pricing. Additionally locating cleaners for $9/hour in this day and age with no benefits (including their crappy employee paid wellness program) is near impossible; the only people you can get for that have either something negative in their background. Upper management gives lots of lip service to middle management and places unrealistic budget/profitability expectations year after year on management, as if there was all kinds of margin padding- especially on cheaply bid accounts. Customers get sold a kiss and a promise.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop going in at 3-7% profit margins, and get real. Hire salesmen that know how to sell benefits of service, not just cheap prices.

Former Employee – worked at GCA Services full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – People at the lower hourly levels are treated well and tyically have a very reasonable work load. Most of the account managers are underpaid, given minimal support, but continue work hard and do the best with what they have.
Cons – Senior managers have no understanding what goes on in the field. Perhaps more frightening, they have no interest in doing so. Training programs are outdated and are ignored. Communication is a disaster up and down the chain of command. It is incomprehensible that mid-level and senior managers are so completely out of touch with what actually happens. This is definitely a sales organization that puts minimal effort on the operations end of their business. There is no passion to be good, there is no desire to encourage people to perform. Lots of lip service, to be sure. But nothing more than lip service. .
Advice to Senior Management – You have a profitable business, but you have no idea how much more successful (ie: profitable) it can be. To do justice to your shareholders, your people and yourselves, you need to realize that GCA has become a house of cards, built on an operational foundation that has been neglected for so long that it is crumbling. And unless you actually get your hands a little dirty to take a good look at it, the whole thing will eventually come tumbling down - quickly. And you'll have no idea why.

Current Employee – been working at GCA Services full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Insurance is good but costly
Cons – Senior management does not value employees. Very little consideration or feedback offered to employees. No annual reviews and no incentives. Upper management are outside of industry, don't care about employees and are only concerned with how much money they.can put in their pockets. Company gets sold about every 5 years but somehow same senior management stays in place.. Do not promote within unless you are a friend or a family member
Advice to Senior Management – Resign

Current Employee – been working at GCA Services full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great opportunity in management. Once proven, GCA will give a lot of freedom to handle operations as you see fit. Average salary and benefits.
Cons – Sometimes lacks administrative support. Existing locations could be ignored in favor of new account creation.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in training for Account managers to advance. There is a lot of talent already in place waiting to take this company to the next level.

Current Employee – been working at GCA Services part-time for more than a year
Pros – Great Job if your a supervisor. Set schedule, you get some overtime, decent pay, benefits are okay, at least they offer them. Good Training. Great about communicating to you the days expectations.
Great way to get some experience in management for future jobs.
Cons – Is a Temporary company so you are on contracts. After your contract is up they can fire you anytime they need to. They don't treat the hourly workers very well. They will cut your hours without notice. They don't offer benefits to hourly workers. If you are a good worker they will take into consideration and cut your hours last. Since they are on a contract basis with the client, Management has to follow the needs of the customer, that being said GCA management takes a lot of heat from the workers when they are just doing what they're told to.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat the hourly staff better. The blue collars of the world get it done and they need to be appreciated once in a while.
