    Pros

Not a megga corporate environment, very relaxed atmosphere but professional. Lots of staff 'get togethers' and volunteering days so making business contacts with people from all sorts of backgrounds and experiences is easy, also nice to spend time with management doing stuff other than just work. People are extremely knowledgeable in their fields and so there is lots to learn from people and you are easily inspired. So many training opportunities and managers who genuinely care about your career advancement. Although everyone is busy they are willing to spend an hour with me to explain things I don't understand. People have been amazing and so friendly towards me. The company is aware of what is going on externally and in the news and gets staff involved with respectful services (minute silences etc) Easy to talk to top management as they are often floating around the office asking if you're okay with everything. Flexible working arrangements, working from home is an option. Lots to learn and I was given responsibilty from Day 1. If you want an internship that is beyond sitting at a desk on Excel all day, sticking in your own little function and would rather get out doing some project work with other teams and presenting, coming away from the internship feeling that you've actually done valuable work GE is the place, although Capital may not be an option anymore the other divisions are.

    Cons

Uncertain future with the sale, could come in one day and be told your business is sold. Very complex business to get your head around. I have had lots of IT problems which has been preventing me from getting on with my work. Sad that as an intern I'll only be there for a year!

    I worked at GE Capital

    Pros

Benefits, and salary, great colleagues, and canteen

    Cons

It was like working for a cult, not encouraged to think out of the box or challenge a point with your line manager, company does not welcome those with an entrepreneurial spirit, you feel you need therapy after you leave

    Advice to Management

Respect all employees not just those at the top
