    Pros

Excellent culture, training and development, employee empowerment and accountability. Always innovating and piloting new concepts, processes and ideas to stay ahead.

    Cons

Large company - slow to no growth if you are mid career. Poor overall compensation growth once you join. Pay much more to folks hired from outside ( who often don't last) as they don't fit in the culture

    Advice to Management

Keep your top talent happy by paying them well above market.

    Pros

Great people who have their hearts in what they do and want to do the best for the company and for their customers.

    Cons

Reactive rather than proactive. Inconsistent strategies to succeed. Insufficient or no support provided to strategic initiatives. No substance behind strategies.

    Advice to Management

Rather than scripting town hall meetings, leadership should sit down with employees to hear what is really need to drive success.

    Pros

Pay, telecommute. You can run, but you can't hide.

    Cons

Politics, kissing you know what to get ahead. It's a dog eat dog world and unless you are willing to fight with those around you, you will be gone. Teamwork does not exist here - you are on your own. Good luck getting anything from another group unless you force the issue. Org is very level conscious and what really matters is how things appear, not how they really are.

    Advice to Management

    Can you say teamwork?

    Pros

GE Healthcare is like the verbal fast train - hold on and enjoy the ride but be prepared for the rapid changes and stay on top of things otherwise this is not the place for you ! World class product range which is unique in this field !
Reputation and many years at GE mean you know what hard work is !

    Cons

Too many changes per annum. Constant adjustments make it difficult to provide a first class service our customers deserve !

    Advice to Management

Get pro-actively engaged, analyse the issues and fix them quickly before you hit the wall.

    Pros

Refined project management methodologies and skilled implementation consultants contribute to successful projects. GE is a large company with the resources to engage any business segment.

    Cons

Project Managers are now responsible to manage projects across business units. Even if you have a career built on revenue cycle management, you may now also be responsible for projects in imaging or other GE Healthcare business.

    Advice to Management

Place more consistent bets. I often see upper management placing ambitious bets that we all work towards only to have to shift gears one to two years later when there's a changing of the guard.

    Pros

Leadership has clear idea what is happening in the Healthcare market.
Company is still dominating healthcare products.
Diversified - and provide mobility to employee to move across businesses and locations.

    Cons

Leadership is slow in adapting best practices or technology - like we are 5 years behind on Cloud.
It is only a matter of time the the foreign product catch up to FDA to break the market shares.
401k is all allocated to GE funds - and growth rate lower than market rate.

    Advice to Management

Legacy is paying us now - but it will not pay us forever.

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Great staff to work with and state of the art product to help treat people.

    Cons

There are many projects going on at the same time and focus changes very frequently. The pay grade is on the low side of the scale.

    Pros

-Proactive and very knowledgeable people who are passionate about their work
-Efficient cross functional teams that really correct problems big and small
-Cross-training affords a lot of opportunity for personal and professional growth
-"Best in Class" mentality in all things
-Many volunteer opportunities, networking events, onsite visits from customers/patients who tell their stories
-Very close knit community of specialized scientists in Radiopharmaceuticals

    Cons

-Job descriptions are laughably outdated, inaccurate, and relative only to new hires (<3 months)
-Cost savings often rely on attrition of experienced team members, replaced by contractors (if at all)
-Ineffective managers often force the best employees to seek outside opportunity for advancement
-HR is not dependable, knowledgeable, or helpful (and for all intents and purposes is non-existent on site)

    Advice to Management

-Promote from within more often and verify knowledge of managers is appropriate for their role level.
-Continue to drive process improvements based on employee suggestions
-Listen to employees who are restless... perhaps they need new challenges or are ready to own a process/project

    Pros

    Culture based on Meritocracy
    Chances to advance your career
    Attract great people

    Cons

    Very bureaucratic
    Slow to change
Not always focused on the customer
Extremely quarter-end driven - clients have been trained to wait to buy

    Advice to Management

    1. Review senior leaders with input from subordinates to understand if the culture they aspire to is in being implemented.
    2. Move away from quarterly results - very destructive to client relationships and shareholder value.
