I have been working at GEA Group

    Pros

GEA is a conglomerate of many engineering firms which provides financial and management support. Although the GEA group is large, the individual companies are smaller firms (less than 100 people), which preserves an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of creativity,

    Cons

Because a lot of the GEA companies are small, there is no room to move up. To work at the HQ you ust speak and write in German, which is a big limiting factor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There has to be a better integration of all the firms under the GEA umbrella, including talent promotion from within. Many talented people leave for competition because of a lack of a path towards leadership positions.
