I worked at GEO Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Above average pay
    -Promotional opportunities
    -Transfer options
-Great benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K

    Cons

-Administration not on the same page
-Sergeants and Lieutenants too afraid to stand up for Officers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All management needs to be retrained. They refuse to realize that they don't make the facility run like clockwork, the officers and support staff (culinary, case workers and grounds keepers) are what make GEO a great company. Management sets it back.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
  2.

Poor management creating a hostile work environment.

I have been working at GEO Group full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I do enjoy making an impact in inmates lives by helping them improve their education and moral / religious values.

    Cons

A management team that changes the duties of the employees, requiring instructors to work as officers during down time. Requiring salary employees to work as hourly employees, telling employees they will be terminated if they leave early after their job assignment is complete. Having different standards for different employees in the same department. Last, overlooking most stuff, while making a big deal out of what they choose to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Manage fairly, to all employees. If an employee is Salary, treat him / her as such, or make them Hourly. Don't have a different set of standards for a group of employees, and another set of standards / expectations for others.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
