I have been working at GEP full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

GEP is a tough place to work, but rewarding. They have very high expectations and standards, at times bordering on unrealistic, but those who put their head down and work hard can build very successful careers here. Definitely not the place for slackers or people who would prefer to coast on other's accomplishments. They will push you hard, but you will learn more here than anywhere else, and you will be rewarded for the hard work and loyalty.

    Other pros:
    Benefits plans are fairly generous
    Huge potential for salary growth
    Strong industry and functional expertise

    Cons

Starting salaries can be a bit lower than the market average, but this is quickly made up with generous bonuses and raises.

Work hard, play hard culture can have its drawbacks

Consulting group is heavily favored over other functions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Technology, outsourcing, back office functions are just as crucial to your success as the consultants. More realistic targets and goal-setting should be practiced.

    Pros

    The cafeteria was pretty decent

    Cons

    - A management team that charts the course of the company and its people using a decision ball
    - People practices adapted from Guantanamo Bay
    - Founders who have no management or business experience
    - Mediocrity in processes, hiring, quality and customer management

I have been working at GEP full-time

    Pros

Have to train yourself while management works against you. The management is far too inexperienced to offer any useful help.

    Cons

If you speak up they go out of their way to try to fire you. On this project that lasted 9 months the management team burned through 14 employees - hired and fired (a few quit). It's not the work or the client being difficult - it is the people managing the project that do not have a clue.

I have been working at GEP

    Pros

The great thing about GEP is the vast amount of knowledge you have at your disposal. The company is still relatively new; you cannot compare it to one that has been in existence for over 50-100 years. There is room for growth if you work at it. If you are looking for a normal 9-5 where you can get away with doing the bare minimum, this company is not for you.

    Cons

At times the clients set unrealistic expectations, but management will do whatever it takes to meet it; including working long hours over the weekend.

I have been working at GEP

    Pros

Excellent opportunities to have a direct impact to the company, growth and culture
Corroborative, team oriented culture where input from every level employee is valued
Good client experience to challenge and develop skills
    Much improved performance management system
Senior leadership committed to creating a culture that values employee contributions
Very competitive salary at all levels

    Cons

maybe not necessarily a con but you definitely have to be willing to work hard, invest of yourself and be career focused
need to always deliver consistent results

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to keep your focus outward to delighting clients as well as continuing to develop a rewarding, employee focused internal environment

I have been working at GEP

    Pros

As long as you are political master mind you will survive here. You don't necessarily need to work very hard here to grow. On the contrary, if you genuinely want to learn and be hard working, this is not the place for you.

    Cons

I joined GEP thinking that smaller company meant better recognition and faster growth. Unfortunately that is not at all true. Size of the company does not determine anything. There are some people within the company who grew(or are growing) very fast by playing politics without possessing any real talent. These people are the so called managers who are extremely immature and take all measures to curb growth of genuinely hard working and sincere people because of their insecurities. GEP is full of such senior managers(some in making). The leadership team is reasonable, but they don't have the time to understand truth and they take actions based what the undeserving managers say. All the good people are worked to death to make the client happy and when time comes they are not rewarded and the only option provided is to leave the company while the political people run the show. Beware of the people who have been with the company for a long time, its highly likely that they are the political ones who make others leave.
Management becomes angry and upset if you honestly share any opinions or ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am an optimist, so I will give you some advice..
Please treat employees with respect. I understand that everyone is replaceable, and companies don't necessarily have to work hard towards retaining their employees. But if you look at the world's most admired companies, their biggest strengths are happy employees and retention rate. You have done a great job hiring hard working and smart people. But hiring is not the solution, retention is also an important aspect. Communication is the key to solving many problems. Communication at GEP is broken down at many levels. Open communication could solve many problems here.

I have been working at GEP

    Pros

Global eProcure is a startup and is in its high growth stage.
The work environment is very nice, with most of the employees in the field most of the time.

    Cons

Being a consulting firm, the firm must be nimble as jobs end when the contract is over.
This is one thing every employee must keep in the back of their mind.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The firm is growing and is well managed. The question is if management is managing for a firm
that has just started or for a 10 year old firm, which requires a different style.
