I have been working at GFI Digital full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I love working for GFI because of the company culture and values. You are treated like family vs. just another number. The growth opportunities within the company are endless. Management finds new and inventive ways to motivate us through contests, incentives, and bonus programs. It is a wonderful feeling coming to work everyday when you know you are appreciated, which has always been the case at GFI. I have every intention of retiring from this company.

    Cons

I have been with the company for several years and honestly do not have anything negative to say about GFI. I would whole heartedly recommend GFI to any friend or family member looking for a great place to work.

    Pros

Potential money to be made can be very good

    Cons

All of the senior account reps have all of the accounts that are worth anything You'll starve on the base salary and alot of the sales don't make any money for the rep it goes to the company only.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees more, gas allowance, its a sales job and the sales people are treated like time clock employees

    Pros

Nice office space and P-Club trips.

    Cons

Hyper-insecure Pres/Owner who drives a corporate culture that makes Animal House look tame. Sexual harassment is rampant, managers are minions of the owner or...they're fired, ethically bankrupt, dishonest billing practices, old school sales techniques, current employees are fired if caught talking to fired employees.... This is a copier company, nothing more, nothing less. The owner's insecurities and paranoia make working here all but impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Seek therapy.

I have been working at GFI Digital full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good People
    You get paid... I guess.

    Cons

    No room for advancement
    Tattling encouraged
Low pay and promises of "raises" that rarely happen
Sales Team under intense pressure to generate "Net-New Customers"
Warehouse & Admins under intense pressure to keep up without adding any support
Completely averse to change of any kind
Forced social gatherings take the place of raises, benefits, or time-off
Managers fail to understand basic business concepts
No reward for extra-time or effort
    Pretend to care about employees
Very secretive (despite forcing all employees to watch a video from 1980 every year about how important it is to share all information with employees)
Thinking, creativity, and innovation are discouraged
Benefits are a joke and only exist because of new federal laws
Offices spread out across 3 states, but they try to manage all branches from 1 location
Have a habit of preaching about the importance of things that they never do (communicate, evaluate the process, treat people with respect, etc.)
Reward incompetent employees and ignore the hard-working, intelligent, courteous, intelligent ones
    Customer service is horrible
Unbelievable markups on all equipment, service, and supplies
    View all employees as "replaceable"
    Short-sighted goals and strategies
A very non-diverse staff (white, males, 30-50; women are only in receptionist-like positions)
Make promises that are rarely kept
    Sexual harassment is condoned

And so on and so forth...
If you are employed there, I'm sorry.

I worked at GFI Digital full-time

    Pros

Very helpful co-workers, a decent place to work until you find your place in life.

    Cons

Pay is no where near where it should be for the Techs, No room for advancement that I saw, instead of raises you get to drive out of town for a "meeting". "Benefits" are way too high!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Higher starting salary for techs, Sales should be on the same level as the Techs , not made out to be gods!! Find better and cheaper insurance packages for families.

The people at GFI are great, but there is not a lot of room for professional advancement.

    I worked at GFI Digital

    Pros

You will learn how to sell. Of course, there is high pressure to meet you monthly quotas and the management team will absolutely hold you to them. Good place to develop your sales ability.

    Cons

They have a revolving door of young sales people and a core group of 5 or so top earners who have all the major accounts cornered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensate sales people with some kind of residual salary that will stop the exodus of talent and the high turnover. Lower turnover would mean less time spent training new employees.
