    Pros

    - They will pay training when needed - You might have the chance to stay at home doing nothing because they don't have any project, but will be paid

    Cons

    - Salary is low - Client is always right, don't have much to say about the project you are working on

Bad management and even worse internal procedures. Average salary and benefits for a contracting company.

I worked at GFI Informatique full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - average salary and benefits - good CE (but it couldn't be the case anymore since a few months) - good language courses in the package

    Cons

    - Very bad experience with holidays and internal procedures: the rules (I unfortunately discovered late) say "90+ days notice for standard leaves, 7+ days notice for RTT days and up to 30 days after the request to get a positive or negative feedback". You can't basically get days off the first year without a "proper justification". - For a 5 days leave I had to wait 3 weeks for a feedback... - I also got rejected (after 40 days!) 8 days of unpaid leave for unofficial healthcare reasons, even though I had the approval of the client, I provided a plan of using them in the following 3 months.

    Advice to Management

    - improve day by day communication with employees - consider relaxing the 90+ days notice constraint for holidays - consider allowing the use of holidays as soon as they are accumulated, without any sort of "justification" - consider discussing with employees before rejecting few unpaid leaves if justified and approved by the client

I worked at GFI Informatique full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Competitive salary and benefits. Strong and Stable company, reliable. Has strong partners in both the public and private sector, so you will get a job guaranteed in the most prominent players in the market. Good Work-Life Balance. People are nice to work with. A Good training and certification program in place

    Cons

The lack of projects made me staying with the company no longer possible. Promotions are hard to get and raises based on merit and performance are non existent.

    Advice to Management

Continue the good work you are doing in making this company big, however keep an eye on the workforce and invest in designing an effective career planning program. The most common question made in Interviews is: Where are you planning to be 5 years from now.. Just think about the answer carefully and don't stop asking this question after the interview.

    Pros

A lot of varied work. I can't complain about repetition after 3+ years.

    Cons

Depends on the projects and clients. It wouldn't surprise me they put you in underestimated projects where in the end you'll be working endless hours including weekends with a ridiculous compensation for it.

    Advice to Management

Estipulate real compensations for those who give up their personal life trying to push the projects forward.

    Pros

wide variety of work, professional office, respectful staff, modern office, good base salary, stable middle management. modern equipment, laptops, cell phones, unimpeeded internet access, easy access to transit, close to post secondary institutions, some educational assistance

    Cons

complex work, lack of understanding of work complexity by senior management, poor benefits, language barrier, frequent changes in ownership, long work hours, short vacation time, time sheets, senior management makes workers feel that they are machines there to do a job not as individuals with individual needs and concerns. There are few perks for line staff, no subsidy of sports tickets, no arts programme, maternity limited to what is required by government

    Advice to Management

give all the employees a sense of ownership, by actually giving them ownership, either directly, or via profit sharing.
