    Pros

    Good People, the Principals on the West are great to work with. Nice offices, direct access to HR. Our new HR lead, Scott, is awesome! Good investment in employees. They're working on an even better bonus structure. GHD is flexible with our needs. I feel that GHD pays their employees very well. I've never been turned down for a raise when justified.

    Cons

    GHD just merged with CRA, which brings change. Some are uncomfortable with change. However, it hasn't been that bad. The biggest change for folks was with our benefits.

    Advice to Management

    Create a clear career path for technical and non technical up and coming professionals. Continue to invest in our assets - our people. Fewer changes in the future.

    Pros

    GHD provides an opportunity to work on intersting and diverse projects. Most of the people were passionate about the type of work and were easy to get along with.

    Cons

    Depending on the office you work in expect to travel in order to stay billable. Depending on the project manager, expectations could be unrealistic at times to meet deadlines.

    Advice to Management

    Management needs to be more open to input and be more open with employees. Listen and be more receptive to suggestions from employees.

    Management structure tends to flow to that of the latest acquisition.

    Bonus program is inconsistent at best

    Benefits program is being cut to match industry norms rather than valuing the employee.

    Don't forget your core values and your employees truly are your greatest asset.

    Pros

    Great team-based work atmosphere. Heavy focus on professional development for entry level engineers, and the youth professionals program encourages interaction outside the workplace. The company has a lot of future potential and is rapidly developing in presence in North America.

    Cons

    The current merger with CRA has been a huge distraction, with a lot of uncertainties at every step of the way. The bonus program is structured based on the performance of your whole operating center, instead of an individual office level. Do not count on a significant bonus, and your salary will not be stellar.

    You learn the ropes here. Lots of autonomy. Sink or swim.

    Underpaid relative to industry, little mentorship. little upward movement.

    Pros

    Good pay and above average benefits. I work out of a remote office that was bought out by GHD a few years ago, so it still has that small company feel.

    Cons

    Some projects involve way too many engineers from multiple states and/or offices. It's hard to get them to make a timely decision on issues encountered in the field. It can take weeks to get an answer on trivial things that could have been worked out locally and in a few minutes. The management structure is complicated, it's hard to tell who's in-charge of what. Also, GHD has too many acronyms for things, if you work here you know what I'm talking about!

    Good Stable Company that has its eye on Growth.
    Above average Benefits

    Cons

    It is hard to get leadership involved with regular project tasking. But, peer review is readily available and compitent.

    Advice to Management

    Make Training and outside Professional Developement more available.
    Keep and eye on day to day in office staff matters.

    Managment Oversold Opportunity, Company doesn't have bandwidth to support growth.

    Advice to Management

    Time to evaluate business units relative to the business functions of GHD. Departments with un-qualified staffing must partner to meet the needs of the normal job functions.
