I worked at GMS Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working here provides a good Work-life balance, benefits, good commission structure, relatively low fees. Its a great place to learn how to cold call and learn about fixed income investing.

    Cons

Some of the things I think were setbacks to the company were their limited investment options, and I felt they needed to do more marketing and advertising.

I have been working at GMS Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice building good location in jersey with a great view of nyc. But that doesn't make up for a dismal company and management.

    Cons

Horrible leads - All cold calling - Not stimulating, No support, Tiny base pay that they take out of your commissions anyway - watch out for these liars!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise the company to not lie to employees about earning potential, and certainly don't lie to potential candidates about earnings especially when you are giving them a base that you then take out of their commission. Essentially the company is looking for cold callers - Not real bond brokers.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at GMS Group

    Pros

To learn how to sell Municipal Bonds. It is a pretty good place to start if you do not have series 7 yet. They pay you 2k per month, and let you pass exam.

    Cons

Very poor leads. Management vs Stake Holders struggle. Systematic unprofessional behavior is ignored by both management and Stake Holders.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need transition from paper work age to electronic age as far as communication is made in operational and lead generating systems.

I worked at GMS Group full-time

    Pros

Once you fight your way through the self training, and you can find your own way around it can be a fun place to work. Some of the employees are caring and Friendly.

    Cons

Training is non existant....Management is not involved in everyday problems in the office. You are not kept up to date with new methods or memos from main office. Paperwork is in the stone ages and needs to be updated with better computer systems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Become Involved, know your employees and actual care that they work for you.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
