Store Manager

Retail Store Manager (Current Employee)

I have been working at GNC full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGNC does really make you a lot more knowledgable on products and can also help you become better with selling to people if you really like being in that environment.

ConsI think most managers can agree that this job doesn't pay very well. When I use to be an employee working my way through college, I thought the pay was great.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Worst, most unethical company I've worked for

GNC Sales Associate (Current Employee)
Topeka, KS

I have been working at GNC part-time for less than a year

ProsI learned a lot about supplementation, and used that to my advantage in my training regimen during and after my employment.

ConsASKED TO WORK OFF THE CLOCK (and they've been sued for this before!!!)
HORRIBLE minimum wage base pay
must invest in your own uniforms
my manager was a mean, cigarette smoking, high school educated wench who had a conviction for theft
moved around multiple stores (ended up in slowest)
never given the hours I was promised
commission structure is unfair
Average 8.00 per hour LMAO--POVERTY WAGE

Sales the most important thing

Sales Associate (Former Employee)

I worked at GNC part-time for less than a year

ProsChance to make decent money if you're good at selling.

ConsSales are more important than helping people. Customers see this and it makes them hate you.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on what the customer needs.

low, low pay and high expectations for not much reward

Sales Associate (Former Employee)
Tuscaloosa, AL

I worked at GNC part-time for less than a year

Proslearned a lot about nutrition and health

Conslow, low pay (minimum wage), no benefits, high expectations to stalk people as they come into the store, creepy

Advice to Senior Managementyou expect way more than you give, and you charge too much for your products that are over-hyped

Not as fun as you might think

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at GNC

ProsWork alone most of the time, so you get some experience what it's like to run a store. Also the discounts are pretty nice on closed-dated items. Great second job.

ConsSales depend on location. Unattainable sales goals. Will often have to recommend products upper management wants you to sell, and its not even what the customer was coming in for.

Advice to Senior ManagementRespect your employee's and listen to them, they know more than you think.
