Greatest Company in the industry!!! (Particularly Franchises)

I have been working at GNC full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Quality control: over 200 quality checks for consumer safety and guaranteed potency (This could explain why hundreds of products never make it to GNC shelves) . Innovative: constantly bringing to light new companies and revolutionary health, fitness and beauty products. Work for Franchise you will be much happier, creative flexibility pricing an customer service is far better.

    Cons

Salary, I've worked for both Corporate and Franchise GNC..My salary was better at corporate but the stress and demands are greater. Franchise is wonderful but as a manager there will be no room to advance. :) things to ponder...Dozens of competitive, innovative and revolutionary products that never make it to GNC shelves...possibly quality control?

I worked at GNC part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The amount of responsibility granted to the employee gives you the creativity to leave your impression upon not just the customers, but management and the GNC community in general.

    Cons

Just like any other job, it requires your precious time and effort. For instance, most GNC retail stores operate from 10 AM to 9 PM.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The more freedom given to local management the better, as store promotions and deals generate more customer interest.

I have been working at GNC part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Now I work for a Franchise location in Texas so my experience maybe a little different so...
Great way to interact with local population, Awesome staff, Manager is well educated in Sports Nutrition, Manager interact very friendly and professionally with staff and customers.
Great place to work if your well versed in fitness, weight training, and health. Pay fluctuates per person and outgoingness to sell. Hours quite flexible as well as consistent.

    Cons

I currently have nothing to say in terms of cons. I really enjoy the work and the staff. I guess the only con i could really have would be a little under staffed. Obviously thats a not a huge issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work!

Got sales experience, earned by way to maximum part time hours to full time manager. The pay min wage with commish.

    Cons

A lot of extra work. The company has made hiring difficult with computer aps only and not always listing job openings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Over the years you have made positive changes. Keep making those changes. Put cameras in all stores.

I have been working at GNC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

GNC is a company that cares about their employees. Because it's the people that work for GNC that make a difference. They are always coming up with new ways to improve our sales and customer service skills.
    I LOVE "Order Control Department"
I LOVE some of the HELP DESK people! My favorites are: Shawn and Betty-Ann!
    I LOVE Laurie in "RECORDS"
I LOVE my DELIVERY DRIVER" who drops off my shipment.
I LOVE "GRAPHICS DEPT" they always send me my signage within days.
I LOVE my "SALES ASSOCIATE" Josh! He always works so hard and is great with our customers.
I LOVE my CUSTOMERS! They always make my day.
I am lucky to work for GNC. I am PROUD to be an GNC employee!

    Cons

My only complaint is: Wish we could have 2 people work together everyday. It is difficult for a store manager to do sales and operations within 40 hr work week. I wish all store managers could have an Assistant Manager for 40 hours a week.
I wish our salaries were increased.
I wish our HEALTH BENEFITS co-pay's were $0.00
I wish that PART-TIME EMPLOYEE's were allowed to work 40 hours a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish Upper Management would ask Store Managers - how they could make our jobs easier. Offer more promotions to store managers. Increase salary and PM's. Have us work 8 hours a day and allow us to have 2 -15 minute breaks and an hour lunch.
When RESETS begin. Have all managers go to other stores to HELP COMPLETE RESETS for each store. This is A BIG JOB and it requires a lot of hours.
Stop having us change Price Tags every week. This takes a lot of time.
Have prices and dates labeled on ALL PRODUCTS!
Have a JANITORIAL SERVICE come to do FLOORS and WINDOWS every week.
This is normal for all retails stores to have.

Change COLOR SALE TAGS every month. For example:
    January/February Promo Sale Tags: BLUE
    March/April Promo Sale Tags: PURPLE
    May/June Promo Sale Tags: PINK
    July/Aug Promo Sale Tags: GREEN
    August/Sept Promo Sale Tags: FUSHIA
    November/December Promo Sale Tags: WHITE/BLACK
