I have been working at GROWMARK part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people that work at GROWMARK are what make this company so great. They promote the values-based culture and make working there so great. There is a ton of internal hiring, so the upward mobility is astounding.

    Cons

There are very few pros in my experience with GROWMARK. Bloomington-Normal isn't the most exciting town, but for some people, it's just right.

I have been working at GROWMARK full-time

    Pros

You would be hard pressed to find a company full of better people. Most people seem to care about their jobs and actually work to provide value. The work/life balance is good for most employees, although hours can be long for some with customer facing positions during our busiest times of the year. The benefits are overall pretty good, including a pension which is great if you plan to stay for a long time.

    Cons

The compensation is somewhat lacking and the raises are uninspiring. Requires five years to be vested in the pension plan while the 401K matching is not particularly good - very poor match for anybody not planning on finishing their career at GROWMARK. Upward mobility seems to be lacking for anybody interested in anything other than finance. Sorely lacking in IT personnel for a company of it's size and there seems to be a general refusal to ensure key positions have the appropriate depth/backup - the entire enterprise infrastructure is run on the backs of a handful of people with specialized roles who have no backup.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more job mobility and better compensation policies or the company may turn into a revolving door for the younger generation.

I worked at GROWMARK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits, family oriented, good retirement options.

    Cons

Supervisors have to much power. HR needs to investigate when a supervisor makes a write-up on and employee and not just take the word of the supervisor. Not all supervisors are honest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Investigate all write-ups that are made by a supervisors. don't just take their word for it. The supervisor I had was dishonest and got away with eliminating my position without the knowledge of the three other bosses that were over her.
