I worked at GSK Consumer Healthcare full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Salaries and benefits. Global presence. Leading products.

    Cons

NON respect for a 25 years long committed employee. Terminated as a robber or even worst. So NOT the company I though I worked for. I was so proud. But the "Respect for People" they mentioned everyday is just in manuals. Its NON existant watsoever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dare to really know who is who within your organization. Errors are everyday committed by anyone, we are only humans. Punishments should be matched to severity of the fault PLUS keeping in mind WHO are we talking about. GSK employees CANT be just numbers. And SHOULD NOT be treated this way. The same way companies grow the fell deeply. May God help you all learn. On time.

I have been working at GSK Consumer Healthcare full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to work in a global organization with direct exposure to unique needs of developing markets. Despite excellent learning opportunities and comp, moving up is unlikely unless you are British.

    Cons

This is the right place to work for professional development or are strictly interested in maximizing your comp. However, it is worth noting that few employees resign or retire. Rather, most are let go as a result of a downsizing initiative which occur every 18 months like clockwork. The addition of Emma Wamsley as president in 2010 has had little positive effect on the organization's business model or performance, adding fuel to the already underperforming division.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cultural "focus" on innovation isn't authentic. Employees see through the rhetoric. Be authentic by acknowledging financial issues within the larger organization and the drive for profitability over innovation.

I have been working at GSK Consumer Healthcare (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary, benefits, good brands, working from home

    Cons

Senior leaders are serious micro managers. Not interested in building relationships, more interested in their flawed culture. All about building phoney numbers. Sales calls are a joke. All they care about how many false numbers they can get from the doctor. Not real world, everything is drop down boxes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start being leaders and seriously work on fostering a positive environment. Start looking for people that are creative versus the idiots who just do what their told
