I have been working at Gala-Net full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – It's a great place to gain experience and make connections. Also, it was nice to be working here and earn income while trying to look for another job. Health benefits were fully covered, so that was nice too.""
Cons – Shady management. Their motto should be "do as I say and not as I do".
Advice to Senior Management – There's a reason why the company isn't doing well and the ratings on this website are low. Don't blame it on the industry and do something about it.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Gala-Net
Pros – It is a casual, laid back environment, with healthy drinks and snacks provided by the company. The staff are all friendly, and hard working. The company offers a great 401K plan and will offer to match a portion of your contributions. The annual bonus sums are impressive.
Cons – It offers a poor benefits plan, compared to others in the industry. Promotion prospects are few. The requirements to get an annual bonus are impossible to achieve. The company is not growing.
Advice to Senior Management – Create initiatives to train inexperienced staff. Allow all levels of staff to present ideas in an open unrestricted setting on a regular basis. Offer employees the opportunity for advancement in a setting where they can succeed, rather than scrutinize them for their failures which are beyond their control. Be honest with the staff about the state of the company, and let them know exactly how they can contribute to the solution. Do more to stop the company from bleeding quality staff.

I have been working at Gala-Net
Pros – -The hours here are fairly flexible and you do not have to worry about management's reaction if you are five minutes late.
Cons – -The management is extremely incompetent and tends to make decisions based on little or no information, while ignoring the advice of those who actually know about the situation being evaluated.
-There is absolutely no visibility in regards to employees' work and competent people are not rewarded, while incompetent people are given promotions and raises.
-The only way to get a promotion is by doing work far, far, far above your job title or by socializing with management frequently.
Advice to Senior Management – Start actually paying attention to what is happening at the company! Stop making decisions without knowing even the basic facts of the situation, start actually noticing whether your employees do a good or bad job, and stop helping those people who are only your "friends" because they want a promotion!

I worked at Gala-Net
Pros – Some genuinely intelligent and hard working people at first made this a nice place to work, but as I attempted to get projects off the ground that would bring in revenue I was repeatedly blocked and interfered with and spent all my time dealing with politics.
Cons – The incompetent micro-managing CEO is slowing destroying the company - he originally wanted to be an astronomer. He should have been, as he has no head for business and insists on running the company into the ground.
Advice to Senior Management – Quit, and hire competent people to run the company. When even the CEO's college buddies jump ship because they can't stand him and the way he runs the company you know something is wrong.

I worked at Gala-Net
Pros – -Good place to start if you just want a foot through the free to play game industry
-Good place to learn whole bunch of stuff that you may need to know outside your position
-Pay is decent if you are hourly since they make you do decent number of overtime
Cons – -Little to no room to grow
-Management makes poor decision very occasionally
-No perks
-Overworks you to death especially if you are salaried
Advice to Senior Management – sinking ship. Patch it up.

I worked at Gala-Net full-time for more than a year
Pros – The non-management employees are fantastic to work with. Most are artists and English majors who are truly passionate about video games and want to make their way up the ladder. For those stalwart enough to put up with this company, this is a great starting ground to gain some experience.
Cons – The management, particularly our parent companies in Japan and Korea, are incompetent and extremely short-sighted. It is mind-blowing how much they refuse to even attempt to understand the American culture and game industry. Over and over again our competent employees, who are rarely recognized for their ideas and knowledge, are shut down because management thinks that if it worked in Asia, it'll definitely work here. They think one low-level employee can do the work of two, and are often "offended" if their ideas are criticized. In fact criticism on major projects such as the recent website redesign is completely non-existent, even though they have a treasure trove of willing artists and aspiring engineers working their low-paying jobs.
Speaking of pay, there was a mini-revolt recently! Some of our employees found out that the salary of recent hires was higher than those that had been working the same job for years. Management's excuse? "You wouldn't get the flexible work hours you do here somewhere else, would you?"
There is no transparency in this company, only a lingering feeling of doom. Communication is at a minimum, if not non-existent most of the time. The language barriers are extreme, and our competent employees are always looking for new jobs. The only way to advance in the company is to be a buddy-buddy with management, which means taking up smoking.
Those reviewers who rated this place high? They either had a position in the company that didn't deal with the games/management directly or knew to get in and out as quickly as possible. Rarely do people last more than 1-2 years here, and right now everyone is jumping ship.
Advice to Senior Management – Become more transparent and listen to your employees at the bottom of the ladder. They'll probably know more about the game industry than you do.
