Former Employee - Theracutix Associate in Chicago, IL

I worked at Galderma full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Salary is competitive
Bonus is difficult to navigate but fair
Product line is best in industry
Reputation is well known and respected industry

    Cons

    Micromanagement
    Lack of Leadership
    Skepticism/doubt part of management culture
Unprofessional environment. Encouraged to do whatever it takes and then some.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lack of leadership under new management. Indecisiveness and a lack of confidence plagues Chicago's leadership team. Show some maturity and independence from group thinking. Follow the unbeaten path, perhaps that is where future success will be found. Until then, expecting new results with the same processes will get you nowhere.

I worked at Galderma full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great ambiance, good benefits.

This is a multinational but you feel in a small company.

A good budget and good investment in equipment.

    Cons

Not too much place for employee who wants to evolve in the compagnie. Promotions are exceptions. Higher manager tend to categorize you and you stay in your role. they cannot open their eyes to see you elsewhere.

Higher management tend to hire their friends, not sure it's a good thing.

They tend to press employee as much as they can before adding more staff in the department, so you have no time to think you just execute.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes and take the chance to let your employee have new role.

The higher management change in the last years and not sure if they go in the right direction.

I have been working at Galderma

    Pros

Extremely organized, clean environment, brand new facility

    Cons

Cheap as hell. This company is owned by L'Oreal who makes oodles of money but they can't even pay their employees a decent wage for the hours that they work. The environment is very cliquey...if you don't fit the predetermined decorum, you'll be an outcast. People are constantly on burn-outs and after a while people just start to get nasty. Looks fantastic from the outside but once you're in it you just want to get out as quickly as possible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come back to earth. People are overworked and not compensated enough. Look at all the sad tired faces...
