I worked at Galliford Try
Pros – Once you are part of the team or in the know of the senior management/directors you are looked after in all matters save salary. You are able to take time off work as required for family reasons without affecting your overall holiday entitlement, which BTW is one of the most generous in any industry save teaching. IT is very good and you are provided with the equipment required to carry out your job. Flexible working hours are tolerated provided work does not suffer.
Cons – The longer you stay the further behind your salary will fall compared to the general market. The new T&C's are very generic in terms of what you get elsewhere, and only holiday exceeds other Contractors. Work Place Socialising used to be very good, however as GT has become a larger PLC this has become less practised. Company cars/allowances are poor.
Advice to Senior Management – Do not promote someone just to give them more pay - increase the pay and more people will stay.
