    Pros

-Very big name clients, exciting projects, true strategy work. You will not be bored.

-"No 2 and out" policy without and MBA like most strategy firms. It is possible to stay and progress your career without receiving an MBA.

-Small firm that rewards individual performance and contributions. At the same time, true team culture, everyone is in it together.

-Lean organizational structure and big clients allows for very competitive compensation structure at all levels.

    Cons

-Lean organization structure at times results in disorganized internal functions

-Comes with the industry, but hours can be demanding and turnaround short at times

-You will not have the same "brand name" on your resume as other firms in this space, however you will have worked on more impactful projects for as big or bigger clients

    Advice to Management

As the company continues to scale we will have to re-evaluate some of our internal practices and develop a bit more structure.

    Pros

You'll learn more here in a short time than you will anywhere else. Learning curve is steep, even for experienced hires, so you will never feel bored/complacent
Make a substantial impact on clients and their business strategies, and get a lot of client facetime
Coworkers are great - smart and social (quarterly firm events are always fun)
Flexibility to live anywhere and work from home Fridays
    Opportunity to travel internationally

    Cons

It's a lot of work, but worth it for what you learn and the client impact you are able to effect

    Advice to Management

Don't grow too fast - the low overhead/bureaucracy attracts self-starters and keeps the culture what it is

    Pros

Great culture (fun, hard-working, smart, respectful).
Great work (very strategic, very analytic, access to senior clients).
Great training (quarterly company trips to different locations for training and fun).

    Cons

A lot of travel (consulting...it happens).
Few boundaries (your weekends are not always yours, you are basically available 24/7 if necessary).
    Little brand awareness.

    Advice to Management

Set expectations of deliverables and personal time more clearly.

    Pros

Management treats employees well, compensation is great, you can live anywhere in the US as work is 100% travel based. Also the firm holds quarterly training meetings in fun locations, so it’s a great place to work and see all different parts of the country (mostly domestic although in some cases internationally as well).

    Cons

The work hours are long. The work is also stressful at times. The company is also small, which has its pros and cons.

    Advice to Management

    Provide feedback more often

Very hard-working group of very fun people, doing interesting (most of the time) work.

    Pros

Compensation is fantastic for the industry, and you get to work from home on Fridays! Quarterly firm events are VERY fun, and a great way to meet your coworkers that you don't see at the office every day. The work, overall, is interesting, if you like business and analytics. Culture is entrepreneurial- so the more responsibility you take on, the more they will give you. There is always extra work to go around, so people who are willing to really lean in will do well here. Training events are useful and not a waste of time.

    Cons

Work-life balance is hard to maintain when you're away from home 4 days (3 nights) each week. There seems to be a lack of management experience among those who are managing people- this can lead to newer consultants feeling lost at first. And of course the analytics is often unexciting and time-consuming. Lots of late nights and VERY quick turnover.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a better culture of mentorship- giving people a good idea of how they will grow with this company, and then helping them along the path to success. Also, some of the people are a bit standoffish... as in not so socially apt. While that's not always an issue, it can be if you're stuck on a smaller team with only people who seem too uptight. Relax, people! Also, senior management could do more to be more visible, share project objectives and a high-level view of what's going on, and otherwise motivate the analyst-level consultants who spend most of their time stuck in the weeds.

    Pros

Collegiate atmosphere -- you are not competing with your colleagues for the next promotion as there are no job titles other than "consultant", everyone is very willing to help each other to get the job done
Great pay -- total compensation blows other consulting firms (even McKinsey, Bain, BCG) out of the water
Meritocracy -- doesn't matter how much experience you have or how old you are, you get paid for what you produce and can take on as much responsibility and leadership as you can handle
Transparent Leadership -- partners are on site every week, giving you access whenever. They know what's going on, unlike partners at other companies that focus more on selling

    Cons

Work life balance -- can get tough as sometimes projects seem understaffed, pushing many to work nights and weekends to get the job done
Training -- being a new hire out of college can be difficult as there is no formal training when you start immediately, most of the training is on the job

    Advice to Management

Try to make training a bigger part of the on-boarding process, perhaps by grouping new hire starts closer together

    Pros

    - Firm culture
     - Co-workers
     - Amazing opportunities to learn and grow
     - Great quarterly training events
     - $ (better than McKinsey/Bain/BCG on all levels)
     - Quality of projects and clients

    Cons

    - Lots of travel (not necessarily a con)
     - Tough work/life balance
     - Difficult for people used to taking orders in a consulting factory
     - Fewer clients (not necessarily a con)

    Advice to Management

Don't change anything, and your employees will continue to love working for the firm and putting their all into client engagements and personal development.

    Pros

Galt is a management consulting firm that helps its clients adopt a value-based approach to management. Having worked at several other firms, including consultancies, the advantages of this firm are: (1) little to know bureaucracy / administrative headaches / pointless meetings, (2) partners who are very accessible and involved in the day-to-day project work (3) work that is almost always interesting and impactful - you are being paid to help maximize shareholder value (4) you can have an immediate impact - you are not just a cog in a giant consultant factory (5) the training you receive at quarterly firm events is actually useful

    Cons

Cons are whatever the opposite of bureaucracy is. Basically, sometimes you wish you had a bit more direction or that internal communication was more of a priority. However, the flip side of this is that the firm culture tends to attract and retain self-starters who don't require too much hand-holding - so co-workers are generally a pleasure to work with.

    Pros

    Pure strategy projects
    Deep financial analytics
High level client access from day one
Every consultant is given a significant amount of responsibility
Projects are typically ~3-9 months, have yet to get bored
Great framework from developing fact-based strategies to outlining execution
    Flat hierarchy
    Meritocratic pay/promotions
    International opportunities
Good access to partners, 'big fish in small pond'
Very high quality consultants, great place to learn if you take initiative
Quarterly events for the entire firm in fun locations

    Cons

60+ hour work week is typical, but fluctuates
Not a big name firm, but the work speaks for itself
More responsibility than the typical firm does mean more stress
Not a place if you need your hand held

    Advice to Management

On the whole, don't change. More consistency in recruiting wouldn't hurt, especially as the firm grows.
