    Pros

I started working at Gap this past June. I loved every second of it and my GMs were wonderful! If you're someone that learns by doing, this is the company for you. I was thrown into it all on my first day, but you get the hang of it quickly especially if you're a young person. Excellent experience working here.

    Cons

Corporate needs to do something about their overall image. Constantly changing standards and computer systems make it difficult to master anything.

    Advice to Management

Settle things down! Way too all over the place with the changing computer systems/company standards

    Pros

Absolutely an amazing experience. I started in May right after my spring semester. The people that work there is what makes it great. Great mentors, supervisors from all all of the country with a lot of experience and skill.

    Cons

None. Unless you're sensitive about your work schedule. May have to work the end of the week shift. Early mornings, or late nights.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good working. Very thorough with the hiring process to bring in such great talent.

I have been working at Gap full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I love working for Gap because you do something different every day. You're on your feet moving around talking with people all day while you get to help people buy things for themselves.

    Cons

You are required to work 2 closing shifts per week and you only have 1 weekend off every month. Manager on duty is held personally accountable for not meeting business needs regardless of traffic.

    Advice to Management

Hire a great team, inspire & motivate them to meet business needs & ensure all tasks are completed within a proper time fram.

I have been working at Gap full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

ROWE (Results Only Work Environment) People Opportunity Solid Training Programs Nice cafeteria

    Cons

Expensive cost of living (San Francisco) with wages at National Average, instead of adjusted for high COL (according to HR conversation). Expect to spend 40-50% of salary on housing.

I worked at Gap part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a great job for someone seeking experience in retail. Gap has great employee benefits and takes care of their employees.

    Cons

It's hard to move up in the company and the pay raises are very low. It's not a job that you can live off of unless you are a college student.

    Advice to Management

It would be a great driving factor if the company offered some kind of compensation for employees who sale a lot of product or get customers to sign up for the gap credit cards
