I have been working at Gap part-time

    Pros

The enviorement is pacefull, friendly and active. Most managers are able to hear the team.

    Cons

Some managers don´t care about your preferences (if want work on stock, flor or cashier) if you dont say nothing, the will leave you on the position you don´t like.

    Advice to Management

Please, speak with the employees without the company's point of view.

I have been working at Gap full-time

    Pros

A very casual and liberal culture. Excellent work/life balance. The ability to work remotely allows flexibility. People are very smart and friendly.

    Cons

Company is undergoing tremendous change and sometimes executes this change poorly. Compensation is not the best compared to competitors.

    Advice to Management

Execute change as if you were the one being affected. Lead by example and keep the promises that you make to your people.

    Pros

Everything is a pro here, the people, the work load, the building, the view and the creativity.

    Cons

I cannot really say there is a con here. Maybe that I wish I knew more people in my department.

I have been working at Gap full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Always new things every day. It's never boring and constantly changing. Teaching and training associates is highly satisfying. Networking with upper field management is always available. Upward movement is very easy

    Cons

Gap gives stores almost no hours to work with each week. Their motto seems to be "get 3 days worth of work done in 6 hours".

    Advice to Management

Communication and organization is the key to happiness

    Pros

Manager was flexible, customers were friendly, was able to leave for a few months and then transfer to a new store

    Cons

When working overnights, you'd often be scheduled to work just one day later and made it hard to adjust.

    Advice to Management

Put out the schedules sooner if possible
