    Pros

Gartner is a fantastic work environment - the people are remarkably intelligent and kind. You can work and interact with some of the smartest people in tech; yet they treat all with respect and courtesy.
    I love this place.

    Cons

Stamford has horrible traffic and many make long commutes. If you intend to work here, move into Stamford near the office and save hours of commuting frustration.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

Many different communities and micro-environments within Gartner. All are hard-working, some are enlightened centers of excellence. You'll work with some of the smartest people you've ever known.

    Cons

Some pains associated with scaling: Greater emphasis on standardization, uniformity, bottom line. This was once a quirkier, more creative place to work.

    Advice to Management

Find your mentor and use the resources you'll get access to for growth.

    Pros

Great strategy that has had the company growing consistently at double digits. Data centric and fact based decision making, which in return helps eliminate a lot of "fire drills". Overall morale is great and you have multiple opportunities for growth. The company allows you to apply for other positions within and actually encourage your growth. You can also schedule time on anyone's calendar in senior management to get career advice.

    Cons

When you speak to HR about which level jobs you can apply to, you get different answers. With the recent spike in hiring, It's hard to get experienced HR folks.

    Pros

I worked on a really great team, so there weren't any cons. My manager handled issues appropriately and made sure everyone felt included in the conversation.

    Cons

If not for the commute to Connecticut I would have pursued a full time position.

    Cons

Not much guidance as to what the job is. They kind of turn you loose.
Sometimes it feels like senior leadership is trying to commoditize the thought leadership that makes Gartner great.
Too much focus on metrics and measurements.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing so much on metrics for research analysts

    Pros

This is a lovely company, the location is great, the facilities are great and well maintained, and most of your co-workers are great. There is no end to the nice benefits his company provides. With tons of vacation time and a casual dress code with most teams allowing you to work from home if needed, this is a great company to work for when you're 35 and settling down with a family. This company is growing and looks to keep growing in the future.

    Cons

Overall the work isn't very exciting, you're mostly doing internal work to support the marketing side of things, which Ian bad, just not revolutionary. They do pay a little below the market standards for the positions on the tech side and the bureaucracy can get bad at times, but it seems to be moving forward with the times.

You get exposure to tons of different orgaizations. People generally trust wht you have to say because you're from Gartner.

    Cons

The top guy in the orgnization is good. Business units aren't great at working together.

    Advice to Management

Try to improve cross business unit cooperation. There are some obvious things that aren;t getting done.
