I worked at Gate Gourmet full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very sad but but none at all (based out of the Dorval, QC office.) I cant speak for other offices.

    Cons

Dishonest management, Extremely rude and aggressive unionised environment. Across the board corruption and brown nosing is the norm. I basically had no family life while working for them. Had a very uncooperative boss when it came to family business or support not to mention a very incompetent / biased HR department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gate Gourment Montreal is one of the worst company I had the misfortune to work for. Never in my career have I seen a work place that is entirely ran by its union. Management have no say in anything. Employees are not prone to take advice or take directions from their managers. I personally was victim of slandering and threats from senior management, HR and the union because I basicly did my job and did too much waves in regards to work protocols and the constant breaking of rules from unionised staff. Apply and work for them at your own risk...

I have been working at Gate Gourmet full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Daily challenges, a quick paced complex environment, always something to do, pay is good and so are benefits. A majority of the staff care.

    Cons

Not working to a plan, no processes in place to support business, egotistical and non visible upper management, no budget for capital investment, micro managed at many levels, always have to fight to get what you need.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and listen to your front line people, give up the shut up and do what you are told mentality, work together, lead, and support your employees and front line management.

I worked at Gate Gourmet full-time

    Pros

Able front line employees. Not a whole lot more to say. It was not a positive environment.

    Cons

    No salary increment.
Not sure how this company can survive when the good guys are leaving.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look out for 'brown nosers' who talk big and can't deliver.
Management - Brush up on your people skills and build a better culture, it is what help retain good employees. Perhaps speak to those who left the company for honest feedback!
