    ProsGreat Company to work for and has many benefits and perks! The position can prepare you for an IT project manager or another manager position in Geek Squad/Best Buy. Basically there is plenty of room for advancement in the company and can become a great career.

    Working for Geek Squad was the best time of my life, and running my own team of unique agents and auto techs was a blast. I wish the company the best of luck, which I know they will continue to be successful.

    ConsBest Buy makes too many changes to Geek Squad within small time frames. The changes can add nice benefits to the brand for the clients, but Unfortunately they consistently add many new burdens upon the agents with out proper resources or preparations from the company.

    Clients can be rather rude and have no consideration for the agent that they are treating with no respect.

    Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    ProsIn store discounts. You pay 5% more than the original price that best buy pays. You'll shop their often.

    ConsYou are hassled by managers to sell black tie protection at all costs, lie to the customers, and make sales no matter what or you will lose your hours. Under staffed, old outdated front computers, no tech training, just sell sell sell.

    For me it was a great learning experience.

    ProsGreat discount. Do what you love. Flexible hours. Geek Squad culture is better than what people give it credit for. If you know what you are doing there are frequent overtime opportunities.

    ConsAll of the cons are for my individual store after a change in management. Mgmt only cared about the customer buying new warranty plans or new service. They didn't seem to care about those who were already covered. The pressure was put on us to give the customer shorter estimates for repair times that it would actually take and to perform a full factory recovery on anything with a software issue....oh and remember to offer a $99 data backup for that desktop with a corrupted sound driver that you are fully recovering.... I felt dirty and left.

    Every Geek Squad precinct I have visited or seen is different however.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your customers with respect or they won't come back.

    ProsI was able to really improve on my customer relations skills and help people learn about the beautiful ever growing technological marketplace

    ConsHours were very hard to dictate and it was a pain sometimes dealing with customer issues that were created by Best Buy policies and the inability of coworkers not properly notating every issue that the customer had with the products.
