    Pros

flexibility ,friendly workplace,a great environment to learn how to deal with customers and do some basic IT Stuff

    Cons

low salary and i mean low ! based on the amount of job you do i consider the salary as the minimum salary a technician can get compared to CA who do nothing except talking to customers without any problem resolution

    Advice to Management

ARA should be treated with respect ,he is the guy who make Geek Squad make some profit !

    Pros

The people you work with are young and good to work with. Good first IT job, lots of companies hire geek squad employees.

    Cons

Management micromanages, they press you for numbers, don't get paid much, the list could go on and on.

    Advice to Management

    Stop Micromanaging

    Pros

Access to great resources and a great culture. Geek Squad is a great way to break in to IT repair field. You will have access to great resources and if you have the drive can go from nothing to a master in your role.

    Cons

Your experience will vary from store to store. While Geek Squad is a part of Best Buy you will not be considered for promotion out side of Geek Squad in my experience.

    Advice to Management

Care more about your Agents and they will care more about your store.

    Pros

Relatively easy work, company provides great tools for repairs and troubleshooting, get to work with people and clients from all walks of life, great stepping stone for a future career somewhere in IT

    Cons

Its hard to make a living here, high turnover rate of employees, no real training except for E Learnings, every store has a different way of employee development

    Advice to Management

    More training for all positions

    Pros

As long as you work hard and communicate effectively, you can go anywhere you want in this company. Good pay, benefits, and perks. Good place to build technical knowledge and customer service skills.

    Cons

Store level employees are often incompetent as professionals. They do okay for the typical "summer job" but in a professional business setting, they just aren't capable of real problem solving.

    Advice to Management

Hire more competent employees at the store level. It starts with the customer's first interaction (at the store) before they ever deal with any other services or get their product home.

    Pros

    - access to latest tech
    - work on presentation skills

    Cons

    - some customers are impatient...
    - often bad leadership

    Advice to Management

Need way more of a focus on employee satisfaction and challenges. The job gets tedious before long.

    Pros

The people I work with are great
    The work is easy
And thats about everything i can think of right now

    Cons

The customers are always pissed even if we bend over backwards
Management has no idea what we do thus only focuses on numbers and scorecards

    Advice to Management

Make best buy and geek squad separate entities as their numbers dont work the same as sales numbers. However important, we cannot be bound to same SOP as other stores or even bestbuy itself

    Pros

Great Hands on experience with various laptops, desktops and tablets. This job will refine your troubleshooting skills and being able to speak with customers on some technical topics. Working with fellow Agents was really fun and we kept challenging each other. If Geek Squad were run by just Agents there would be a lot of potential. Unfortunately mom Agents become supervisors with no technical skills and ruin the business.

    Cons

Immediate managment was terrible and really unprofessional. They would come to the back of the precinct and blantly talk about how our clients are with a colorful language. The day to day language our management used was outright disgusting and terrible...everything from sex to drugs. I was a student and at first they were okay with your schedule then forced you to change it.

    Advice to Management

Should be fired and have no business in customer service.
