    Pros

Competitive pay. You will start at $10 an hour until you finish your training (40+ hours on the job).
Great work environment. You get to speak with over 50+ homeowners in a daily shift.
Good co-workers. This is what makes the job worthwhile, the people you meet here are amazing people.
Work outdoors. You work outside the entire time, it promotes exercise and healthy living.

    Cons

Emotionally draining if you can not handle rejection well.
Weekly quota, could be a good thing too.
There is very limited supervision, which can be stressful if you are not properly trained before hand.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize the difficulty of obtaining "swipes" and work with your employees when they are having a hard time pursuing leads.

    Pros

Very exciting and young company culture. Still has the feel of a startup but the support like a large company. Great initial training with several follow-up trainings to ensure success. The managers are always available to help and are out in the field with the team to provide support. The staff seems like they always had the best interest of the sales reps in mind, they make sure to only keep quality people and high performers in the office. It's sales at the end of the day so be prepared to work hard, you are expected to produce results right away.

    Cons

You have to constantly make sure you're mentally prepared since you are engaged the entire shift with no time. The bonus structure could be modified to help the OS team get more for their effort.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Restructure the OS bonus plan, more communication to lower levels about company direction.

    Pros

Fun and lively atmosphere. Management realizes canvassing isn't easy and helps ease the stress with games and encouragement. Everyone around you is encouraging and helpful.

    Cons

7 hours a day, non stop walking, little to no breaks Stressful to exceed and meet quote. mobility is at least promising

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the commission pay is hard because even if you schedule an appointment, your work only pays off if the house qualifies.

    Pros

Fantastic people, Fun work environment, tons of opportunity for growth. I feel that any person looking to develop themselves in a sales or business career should start here. Teaches you skills that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

    Cons

There is a quota that has to be met weekly, but what sales company does not implement this. Some people can't hack this type of work and should just stick with retail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None keep doing what you are doing.

I worked at Gen110 part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible hours for students & high energy team members make this an attractive employment option for younger applicants. Promoting cheaper energy alternatives is beneficial both for the environment and consumers. You're not a salesman, all you do is generate viable leads.

    Cons

Canvassing can be difficult in a market already inundated by companies trying to sell anything related to solar energy. Scripts can be a bit awkward and wordy. Although the program administrators may have approved the script, verbiage can be misleading, and in at least one instance altogether erroneous. There's insufficient transparency between the various positions and company practices. With current company restructuring, hopefully this will be rectified. Meeting the established weekly quota can be difficult. There is an element of luck involved, although there are many other factors that play into it. There's a very high OS rotation, meaning that most won't be with the company for very long. As such, bonuses aren't something that should be counted on as you must be a current employee to be eligible when the requirements are met and the company can pay it. If you have a tendency to let your mood affect your social interaction, you'll struggle when confronted with rude residents. The company claims to value integrity, but the ethical bankruptcy of a few has permeated every level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would behoove you to thoroughly investigate any employee whose morality, integrity, or ethical standards are called into question. Do not advise employees to sweep information under the rug. It detracts from the claim that the company values transparency or any other virtue. If you truly value integrity, actions speak louder than words.

I worked at Gen110 full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Nice enviroment, with an ok pay after the training, if you are a good saler, like to socialize and walk. This is for you, if you learn the script and have the 3 things i said, you are going to be fine..

    Cons

You have to schedule 2 appointments every week in order to keep the job, you have to deal with all kinds of people even drunk, mad, stress out guys at their door house. You walk under the sun, rain, cold and wind for hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

instead of creating robots, you guys can focus on the skills of your new recruits, out of 15 you get, only 2 stay more than a month. I saw great salers leaving in a week, if they do good in the first 3 days thats it with the training, so they just leave in the next week because they dont feel the support and the confidence. Also i was one of the only ones that spoke spanish, they dont have any script in spanish, or video to help the canvaser. I spend more time trying to help the other canvasers than walking my route, and i never got any compensation for that, i try to make an script to help the ones that dont speak spanish but they said they had to talk to josh, one of the leaders of the company. Anyways i enjoy my time there. I left because i move to vegas after 4 months, and i always have my appointments.
