I worked at General Graphics Exhibits full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Wonderful 50-year-in-business boutique-type exhibit house with a true client-centric culture and excellent creativity.

    Cons

Company merged with Group Delphi in late 2011. The latter managed to squander GGE clients and employees and after 3+ years there's just a handful of both left.

    Pros

GGE is one of the West Coast success stories. The company has survived multiple recent downturns in the economy and continues to grow and succeed. Museum work is flourishing and the company culture makes this a place you WANT to work. Great designers, project managers and construction. Supportive management and oh, yeah, a really good location in the city. Our company is 50 years old this year...must be doing something right. Very flexible work environment.

    Cons

Hard to park with all of the industry and businesses moving into the neighborhood. Very frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good financial management and the open door policy. Continue to be supportive.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

casual work environment. steady hours. some overtime. weekends off.

    Cons

no advancement opportunities. no pay raises or christmas bonus in the past five years.

    Advice to Management

establish a human resources office. Reward those who produce good work and let go those who don't.
