Current Employee – been working at Genesis Financial Solutions full-time for less than a year
Pros – I joined Genesis in 2012 and this company is growing rapidly. I was somewhat hesitant to make a move at first, simply based on not being able to find much info on the company. As a privately held business it was tough to find credible and recent information on the web, but after meeting with the leadership team I was excited to make the move. A few of the pros:
- entrepreneurial
- fast paced
- significant growth
- clear business strategy
Cons – The expansion also carries some challenges. I need to juggle multiple tasks and work side projects at times if a dedicated resource isn't assigned or in place yet. This is almost a positive though since I'm getting more exposure to things I wouldnt have had with my previous employer.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep the quarterly townhall business updates and the lunch/learn sessions going. These are giving great insight into the recent success.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Genesis Financial Solutions
Pros – People are wonderful; I worked with smart, competent people.
Cons – Very much affected by the economy; multiple layoffs in the last couple years. Poor communication from management to staff and lack of vision.
Advice to Senior Management – Identify what GFS does really well and put all your investment and human capital behind it..

Former Employee – worked at Genesis Financial Solutions for more than 7 years
Pros – Not too much micromanagement.
A decent amount of potential opportunities to contribute creative solutions.
A mostly relaxed working environment (good camaraderie, casual dress within reason tolerated, etc.) with pleasant middle management and staff.
Cons – Company has somewhat schizophrenic outlook on business strategy - flits from idea to idea every 2 years or so, with substantial layoffs between.
Unrealistic expectations for both project delivery timelines and profit goals.
Constantly reinventing the wheel due to not learning from history.
Advice to Senior Management – The company needs to better study the business ventures it aspires to get into and then fully commit to succeeding in them.

Former Employee – worked at Genesis Financial Solutions full-time for less than a year
Pros – Some of the people are nice
Cons – Low pay, very political, lack of direction, poor management
Advice to Senior Management – Set direction, reduce and replace all of the VP's, reduce the micromanagement, pay better
