Longest job I have held in my career... 7 years and counting....

    Registered Nurse (Current Employee)

ProsCompany really does care, has excellent education opportunities, and quality care.

ConsCorporations are corporations... some things cant be helped. People often misunderstand reasoning behind big decisions.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to remain as transparent as you can and don't forget what it was like to work the floor.

    Worst job ever.

    RN Charge Nurse (Former Employee)
    Baltimore, MD

ProsMost of my coworkers were very kind people.

ConsThe patients ran wild, there were no rules. The mid level practitioners were hostile. Frequently did not have the supplies to do the job whether it was dressing supplies, drugs, or even glucose test strips. Upper management directed nurse managers to write nurses up before the nurse had an opportunity to tell her side of the story. The management people who were supposed to be on call for issues either turned their phones off or did not return calls. Management was arbitrarily punitive, nurses were disciplined for minor things while the "pets" could do no wrong. I found the entire experience negative.

Advice to Senior ManagementDischarge all of the patients, terminate all of the staff, clean the place up and start all over.

    A typical rehab. company

    Speech Language Pathologist (Current Employee)

ProsCompetitive benefits and salary with strong managerial organization within facilities. Typical productivity requirements with travel required as needed to meet same.

ConsInadequate computer availability for documentation with requirement to utilize ITOUCH system which is insufficient to complete good notes, evaluations. Pressure to expand services despite inadequate patient base. Lack of opportunity to work with other disciplines in a team approach, with emphasis on getting "your" minutes "done", rather than a concern for patient progress and well-being.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on patient care, not productivity/minutes and micromanaging pt. care needs.

Similar to any large SNF provider

Certfied Occupational Therapy Assistant (Current Employee)
    Philadelphia, PA

ProsWonderful friendly therapists and flexible hours. The therapists are very committed to helping their patients in any way they can (despite productivity).

ConsIt is about money and not quality care. Have to put vacation time in 3 to 6 months ahead of time. Raises frozen for therapists this year.
