I have been working at Genesis10 as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Good administration, time reporting, etc. Met payroll on time. Negotiated a good rate for me.

    Cons

Did not find another contract or contribute to extending the initial contract. They did not contact the client near the end of the initial contract period to arrange for an extension. Neither did they contact me to advise me of the apparent end of the contract. I found another contract as the termination date approached, only to learn that the client actually wanted to keep me longer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep in better communication with resources already under contract and build longer term relationships with clients.

I worked at Genesis10 as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay you every two weeks. The support staff at the delivery center are nice, but they are the upper managements strong arms. I don't think they enjoy this role but it is their job.

    Cons

All good things come to an end....that goes for any "perks" we had at Gen10, like the option to purchase Short Term Disability, steady increase in cost of benefits and decrease in what benefits were offered, ability to work off site, Zero possibility for a pay raise. Low pay, minimal time off, no raises at all no matter how long your tenure. Unlike most contracting firms that are happy if the client is happy, this one micromanages every decision you make. Even though 95% of the banks IT employees and contractors could work remotely, Gen10 would not allow it and would take attendance daily. We used to receive cookies and a note on our birthdays, now you don't even get an email.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay employees market value (ie - increase pay), reward employees with long tenures, loosing up on the work remote policy. A reminder, the employees are making the company lots of money, occasionally give them recognition.

Put me in a contract very quickly

    Cons

I have been working at Genesis10 full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's a job. A lot of pressure because of their total lack of support for their employees with respect to the clients.

    Cons

A lot of pressure because of their total lack of support for their employees with respect to the clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Back your employees. Reduce employee churn. More paid days off to reduce burnout

I have been working at Genesis10 as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Good people, good rates, good benefits, strong reputation
Very responsive people, return phone calls and messages promptly
Friendly atmosphere and occasional social gatherings
While I only worked with Genesis10 a short time, I had the feeling they cared about me as a person, valued me as employee. Yes, I definitely recommend Genesis10 and would work for them again in heartbeat!

    Cons

Most contracts are short term, i.e., 6 months
Risks that come with a short term contracts
Clients may change direction and priorities and end contract early

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great work with great clients. Keep working with them to offer longer terms contracts. I have seen good efforts in this area. Keep it up!

I worked at Genesis10 full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Decent pay
    - People are nice
    - Training was good
    - Company is very communicative

    Cons

IT recruiting is inherently a bit of a dog-eats-dog world. That's fine. However, discouraging your employees from using the benefits you provide is not fine. Also, I was dissatisfied with my position and, as is required in my contract, gave 10 days' notice. They terminated me effective the day of my resignation. This is an awful, dishonest way to run a business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat your associates with respect.

I have been working at Genesis10 full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    - I've made a career at Genesis10. I have taken advantage of the plentiful opportunities to move up through the ranks.
    - Genesis10 typically hires from within
    - I have always been treated as a person and not just as a number. When I've had sick family members, I've been given incredible flexibility to take care of them. When I was called up by the military (reserves), the owner and CFO both gave their home numbers to my wife in case she needed anything.
    - There is no cap on the amount of money I can make. I've made an incredible income for my family over the years because of the opportunities afforded to me and the commissions and bonus structure in place.

    Cons

    - At times, it can take longer than I would like to get responses needed on somewhat urgent issues.
    - I have less vacation days than what I would like.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to grow your employees from within by giving them the opportunities to grow and advance. Continue to treat your employees like people.

I have been working at Genesis10 as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Incredible support and communication from the Genesis10 team while working onsite with clients. Truly caring of the welfare of their talent, strategically planning for next placement as contracts get close to expiring. Excellent pay for high-level professional positions. Great benefits including options for medical, dental, vision, and 401K.

    Cons

The only cons are the inherent instability of staffing, as the agency cannot control the hiring client's decisions to renew or continue contracts. No paid vacation time, as positions are hourly. Would love to have them expand their client base in my city, for more opportunities to work with Genesis10.
