Pros – It is a very strong company and enable you do move around and work in different capacities.
Cons – ALU ownership and the pains of going from a smaller company to a bigger one. Also, some of the management positions could be held by better qualified people.
Advice to Senior Management – Be careful who you put in senior positions and of ass kissers. The people that do the real work and care about the company should be the ones running the show.

Pros – Genesys is in a great position to continue growing. Product architecture is solid (compared to other similar software) and the company takes time for internal releases to enhance architecture for flexibility, reliability, and performance. There are a variety of different platforms to work with, from a technical perspective. There are excellent opportunities for product training, and employees are encouraged to engage in self-development. Benefits are respectable, and management allows decision making from the bottom. The corporate culture is great; even though they are owned by a larger corporation (Alcatel-Lucent), the feel is more like that of a small company. They don't have "meeting-itis" and speaking up is encouraged.
Cons – If I had a bunch of negative things to say, I wouldn't work here.
Advice to Senior Management – Make it easier to do non-product-related professional development courses.

Current Employee – been working at Genesys Telecommunications full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – 1. great work culture - open, cross platform inter-team communication and people are willing to help.
2. No managerial nagging of work flow order - responsibility of the work depends on the individual and only streamlining done to achieve maximum efficiency.
3. visibility of work is till upper management, recognizing individual contributions, tremendous scope to learn SIP/VoIP and Contact Center technology.
Cons – 1. Below average growth opportunities - a person is stuck in the role he joins into.
2. Average pay - in most cases below industry levels.
3. NO EMPLOYEE IMPROVEMENT program. No Client interaction/managerial scope of transition from Engineering division.
Advice to Senior Management – 1. Let the employee GROW - have credential improvement initiative at base level
2. Inculcate client interaction with technical engineers - it builds a symbiotic relationship between the client's IT department and Genesys's engineering division.

Current Employee – been working at Genesys Telecommunications full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – great, dedicated people, awesome products, exciting market
Cons – Two years under Alcatel lucent sucked life, structure, resources and leadership away from genesys. Private equity firm restoring independence, but the transition is somewhat chaotic. Leadership is trying to do the right thing, but appears to be afraid to make some of the tough decisions needed to chart a successful course. Communication is lacking, though they are trying. Very challenging for women to get promoted above director in this company.
Advice to Senior Management – Over communicate. Make some actual decisions, put a cohesive strategy in place, then make certain everyone in company understands what our goals are. Open up opportunities to everyone to interview, dont just put your favorites in new positions. Interview women for upper management openings.
– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
